Friends, Just got done w/the 600 mile service.Oil & filter, rear end oil change. Did the throttle body sync as instructed in FJR Tech article. After all was put back together. Started the bike again and ran the throttle up

& down a little bit. I wanted to check the adjustment of the Vista Cruise(it was slipping a little at a constant

RPM) so ran it up to about 2500 & set the "cruise" as I walked around the bike to listen for noises that I wouldn't here at that RPM,I happen to look in the front opening(header area) of the ' 06-THE Headers where

red hot ! I only had it at that RPM for roughly 60 seconds or so. When I did the throttle sync the readings

had been anywhere from 230 to 260 on the motionpro guage.I adjusted the #3 to 250mm(which was @230) then brought the others to equal # 3. Iwas pretty happy w/the way it turned out-all very even.- Does anybody have some ideas.Another observation ,was that @ 2500 rpm's ,it was stumbling a little-not real smooth. Should I re-do the throttle body sync ? Or am I looking @ the Barbarian jumper Farkle ? Possibly a

Power Commander ? I really would rather try something less costly first Thanks so much for your advise.

Sincerely, Sliick2

The glow is perfectly normal, mine does the same thing, next time you take the lower fairings off, start it up and watch them glow !!! B)

I sure hope that's it. I guess I never was right there when I had done any kind of constant rpm's before.I don't want to make anything worse-if there is a problem. Do you also get the uneven stumbling ?Do you think that the Barbarian Jumper mod is something that might help ? Would this be considered a

lean condition ?My mileage has been pretty good -around 43. Thanks for your help. Sliick2

When I did the TB Synch on mine I had it running at idle and also used cruise to do the unauthorized synch at higher rpm. Lots of heat, lots of glowing from the pipes. Used a fan to help things a bit, but the glowing is part of the deal. My Connie did the same. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you're going to be running it for very long on the centerstand, or pegged at an RPM... i usually put a portable fan in front of the bike to help keep it cool. The header is supposed to get hot though... that's what exhaust gasses are... and you should see the Cat glow!
