Hey guys,
Is it next year that Yammy is supposed to re do the V-Max--or is that still a rumor? Thanks.

Carry on.
I heard either ‘07 or ‘08. Concept pic below. Rumor has it to be a 1600 cc V-4 and 200 crank HP. I think it would be much better if it had a more aggressive seating position like a café racer (much lower bars) than the concept pic shown. Nothing like the sound of a V-4!

Now if Mama Yamaha will bring back the Venture Royale with freshened body work, couple it with the new aluminum frame casting technology from the Star bikes they would have the baddest superslab touring machine on the planet. :yahoo:

But that would require Yamaha to have a very large set of balls and in this economic day and age I don't think we'll see it anytime soon...but we can dream...

They added Fischer-Price exhaust to the Fischer-Price intakes. Wow. And a headlight looks like my grannys chest. Double wow.

I also read somewhere that it has FI in a paired/shared intake(think Full-time V-Boost), engine is a stressed member in a new cast frame, beefier brakes, adjustable fork, oil cooler and oh ya, 1600cc's. Should be a fun ride. :D

Schaweet, thanks FJRZON. Should be great for those who like the performance but want to keep their legs a little straighter--if the ergos lean that way. Maybe the pegs aren't that much more forward that sport bikes. Bring it on.

What's wrong with Fischer-Price? I made some of my best motor noises on Fischer-Price, some with my mouth, even. Plus, Fischer-Price had some of the best 6-wheeled vehicles on the planet. I say, if you're going to have fakey plastic bits on your vehicles, you should demand Fischer-Price.

I had been invited to Yamaha's headquarters in Cypress twice as a Vmax owner. Once about 5 years ago and another a little more than two years ago. It was all about redoing the Vmax and what my likes and dislikes were about my 98'. I was hoping the second time I went, that they were going to have a prototype ready to show off, but--no dice. They did have about five different sketches though and no actual photo's. The place seemed pretty secretive with guards in cooridors and such. They had engineers from Japan there with interpreters, it was a trip and definetly was a great experience. I also told them that, I would volunteer to be a test rider--they got a chukle out of that----
