So, I've set aside tomorrow morning to change out the fork springs and oil. Got everything ready to go; mcarp's write-up is printed and studied, beer be chillin in the back of the fridge, tools are at the ready, then a comatose brain cell suddenly revives itself and now I have a poser... :blink:

How do I know that the forks are realigned properly after I reinstall them? Are the fork legs keyed to the triple tree? Does reinstalling the axle take care of the alignment? Do I need an undefined tool? Stand back and align by eye? Will this dilemma cause hemorrhoids? :unsure:

Thanks in advance for all the advice and wise cracks.

@TWN,

Wasn't an issue when I did the fork spring replacement - the upper tubes and lower tubes rotate independently, so the insertion of the axle will take care of it. The most important thing is to make sure the upper tubes are at the same height, i.e. flush with the top clamp.

Thanks Rick. That's what I'm thinkin', but the PCIII logic maps being dumped into my brain still haven't quite allowed it to grasped the concept. Course the Jack Daniels I've been swilling down while staring at the forks ain't helping much either...
