According to my eye doctor, I am not in need of glasses. I only need to use the cheaters/magnifiers one can buy without a prescription. Having said that, the numbers on the speedometer are so small I have a difficult time determining my speed, especially around town. Does anybody else here have the same problem? If so, how did you remedy it?

Figure out where the numbers are that you need to know, and where the needle is pointing at that speed. For me, 95 is straight up, 10 o'clock is where I should be on the freeway YMMV

WetWolf, that's kind of what I'm doing right now. Changing speed zones in town makes that a little more difficult. I actually thought about using a permanent marker and marking 20 MPH increments. Maybe there's some sort of attachable magnifier.

Someone on here awhile ago posted pictures of just what you're asking about. I believe he put two bright lines as reference points (maybe around 45 and 70?) and then judged from there. I sorta remember the lines being a bright red, nail polish maybe, but I'm also thinking about a trimmed piece or two of colored electrical tape.

When Canada switched to metric speed no-one knew the speed as the speedometers were on miles per hour. Stick on number kits were available to put on the face of the speedometer. Perhaps you can find some stickers at the dollar store that will work that are easier to read.

They make a magnifier sheet that I've seen people use to cover a page in a book while reading., you might be able to cut one in a circle the size of the speedo lens and stick it on there.

Max... you could read the Tach instead of the Speedo... easier to read quickly.

You could get bifocals (inserted into plain glasses) if you wish to wear glasses.

You could buy a Gen 3 that has a BIG DIGITAL Speedo that can be seen easily from the back seat. DAMHIK

What he said. You remedy it by buying a 2017 FJR. (You're welcome.)
That would definitely be my preferred solution and I thank you both for that advice. However, after my "morning business" this morning, I'm still not crapping dollar bills. So, I'm probably going to go with my GPS and maybe throw on a few strategically placed marks or pieces of bright tape.

I don't use a GPS. But, I have my cell phone mounted above the clutch lever. I use an app called DigiHUB. Displays the data I need at a glance. But, it does use up the battery, requiring that I have a portable battery plugged in whenever I am rolling. It gives me all the data that a GPS will, except the map.
