I just picked up my bike today from having the recall work done, and Wayne in the service department took great care of me and did a few extras that I didn't really count on. When I purchased my bike (elsewhere and used), it didn't come with the third lock cylinder or a spare key, and it also had a few non-standard fasteners on the C & D panels. I inquired at the parts department what it would cost to get a replacement for my top box and the quoted me about $120+ because I had to buy a set of three cylinders. I had mentioned this to Wayne, but told him that I would try to scrounge one up on ebay or from a forum member here, but asked him to make me a spare key and replace the fasteners while they were doing the recall work. When he called me to say the bike was ready today, he said I 'found' a spare lock cylinder, he had re-keyed the cylinder to match my ignition key and installed it. The total charge for the lock cylinder, spare key, 3 fasteners and install was less than I could have done almost anywhere else. Even if someone had given me the lock cylinder for $5.00, by the time I paid for shipping, then had a locksmith re-key it , it probably would have cost more. He even made me the spare key for free! I was never treated that well by my local Honda dealer !!!
