This is for the Gen 2 bin'o'facts. I would like to gather scanned copies or clear pictures of the oil recommendation in the owner's manual. I have the 2009 covered, and the 2010.

I need the following years:

2006

2007

2008

2009 - got it

2010 - got it

2011

2012

Here is an example:

I have a 2010 FJR, and I can't find anywhere in the owners manual where it specifies 10W40. My manual only shows 20W40 or 20W50. The service manual only specifies 20W50.

It seems like whoever wrote these manuals finally got their act together regarding appropriate viscosity for a wider range of temperatures in 2013.

extrememarine - the 2007 Owner's Manual states JASO standard MA

Here's a photo of part of pg. 8-1 with the oil specs:

I'm a terrible proof reader - the 2009 is the only manual that shows 10w40 until 2013.

I do see an API label in my service manual (for years 2009-2011), that shows 10W40 in it, but it appears the purpose of that graphic is to show what NOT to use.

Anyway, more amusing than anything else. I see no problem with using 10W40 and that's what I currently have in my FJR and what I'll probably have in it if the weather ever warms up.
