Hello,

advice please,

I just picked up this helmet and with the shield down it is quiet very nice, however I noticed alot of what i will call back pressure, when i raised the V stream shield.

anyway please do you thing and bring on those comments/suggestions thx

Dude.

You need farkler's anonymous. (I know this isn't a farkle, but I know how you've been spend'n your money)

Nice selection though. I almost bought that style, but couldn't find a discounted one.

Did you get a deal? Did you spring for the $60 visor?

Gee, it sounds like the issue is more the windsheild than the helmet.

I highly recommend the Shoei nose deflector. I think Helmet Harbor has it on their web site.

It is cheap and prevents fogging, which is a issue on this model in the mornings.

I also got the Shoei chin curtain. It was cheap and is nice in the winter.

Yeah it is nice to hear from you brent,

Just can't seem to stop buying sh*t for this perfectblueride!

Mine came with the chin guard and nose guard/deflector.

Shield didn't seem to fog, but sunglasses are.

I am thinking it is the scoop on the back, as the helmet I was wearing for our Brown Country ride didn't bother me.

I will say this is quiet, and warm, do not know if that is what I want this time of the year.

The venting is first rate though, I feel the air channeling through the front vents.

Now for the inter com solution and gps

Might need to wait a while for those! I think the inter com for EOM this year will be the next addition.

BTW Let me know when you are ready to ride here, 421,395,1060 are good, will have a few more after the weekend I hope.

Perfect,

I just bought a couple of RF1000's and didn't really notice that problem. I was using an RF800 without the back "wing" and would have to say if anything the buffeting was a little bit more noticeable. The helmet is definitely lighter I wonder if that makes a difference. Mine came with the nose guard and chin curtain also. I've been using them to see whether they work or not and the shield definitely doesn't fog as easily but it makes the helmet alot hotter. The chin curtain helps with the intercom (starcom) at high speed. It keeps the mic from opening because of wind noise. I am 6' tall and have a standard windshield and I can't get out of the wind even with the seat at its lowest setting and the windshield all the way up. I think its just the nature of the beast. It is without a doubt the noisiest bike (wind noise) that I have ever ridden. Coming off of a VFR there is no comparison IMHO. If you bought the Badge helmet, you should pick up some 1/2" wide 3M black reflective pinstriping. I did this on my helmets (Anthracite) and you can barely see the tape during the day. Just followed the rubber rub strip around the bottom of the helmet. Also, when you are buying sheilds you will see that the RF1000 sheilds fit the RF800.....the RF800 sheilds, however, DO NOT fit the RF1000 because of the front air vents. I found that out at night last weekend when I popped an RF800 clear shield on 150 miles from home and then couldn't close the sucker.

Hello Axe,

I think the V stream may be your answer, it is taller than the cb4+4 that I had.

I did not notice the back pressure as bad today on the ride into work, I do think it is the wing on the back that it causing it.

I do like the helmet, mine came with grahpics on it. I would have prefered another color, however this is okay, starting to grow on me.
