I don't know if you are getting much publicity over this fight over there, it is being pounded here. The fight is (for us) the early hours of Sunday morning. Late Saturday for you guys I would guess.

Hatton lives in Hyde about 5 miles away from me. A proper Manc lad. Note the Peter Kay accent.

Should be a good scrap, £15 on pay to view here and 4am start, so I will wait to see the news on Sunday morning.

I like Mayweather's speed/accuracy but like Hatton's passion for the sport and his country's support. Hard not to choose the US fighter but he's so arrogant.

I just finished reading about the Irish Potato Famine in Ireland. Unbelievable story...

Hatton by decision.

OK Under duress from my lad, and because Hatton is from just up the road, I have paid the £15 to watch the fight. It starts in just under 5 hours (4am our time) so I'm off to bed now. Just been watching the build up. 30,000 British fans have gone to Vagas, only 5,000 have tickets.

7,000 were at the weigh in and brought the house down singing and chanting. Mayweather looked shaken if you ask me!

Should be good. It would be good to see a Manc win something at world level.

C'mon Ricky!

Mayweather knocked out Hatton in the 10th. For the first time in a long time, I was pulling for the non-American. I normally pull for the Puerto Ricans first (my Dad was from Vega Baja, P.R.), then the Americans. Mayweather's cocky attitude, and Hatton's whimsical attitude had me wanting Hatton to win. I'm with Fencer, I've gotten into the mixed martial arts matches of late, but I still love seeing some of the "sweet science". Feejer222, what do you think about a Ricky Hatton vs. Oscar de la Hoya match? I'd love to see that, with the winner getting another shot at Mayweather. de la Hoya lost a decision to Mayweather in May, I think.

Hey Fencer... I haven't looked at my schedule, nor do I know if I'm going to be in town, but maybe we can go in on the PPV UFC on Dec. 29th. Hughs vs St.-Pierre and Liddell vs Silva... should be killer. I think I'll see if Buffalo Wild Wings or Baumhour's (sp?) is carrying it first. I think there's a Buffalo's out your way? We could meet there and hoist a brew (which means I'll be in the cage).

To be honest I think Hatton was outclassed and would not like to see him fight the guy again as I imagine it would end the same. He was on TV this morning being interviewed. He said he felt he had let everyone down and could not believe the passion that the fans had for him. He was grateful and thanked everyone for the support including everyone who paid to view, which I thought was genuine and a nice touch.

I personally think he should retire now and enjoy his money. There was much talk of retirement before the fight had he won. He collected £5m for that fight alone of which he will bank about £2m after the manager's cut and tax I reckon. I doubt that he will ever be able to achieve the status that he might have had he won. He was tearful at the interview and said that he will be back. I hope someone talks him out of it.

He lives and trains in Hyde, a small town about 5 miles from me. He is known for enjoying a night in the pub with the guys and loves his food too. He tends to bloat up between fights, you wouldnt think it looking at him the other night.

Hooters does the UFC PPV. and so does my living room (for most of them)

We could drop in some tile during daylight and watch UFC at night :good:

I should have time to get the wet saw and needed tools from the cabin before then. The cheap way out would be for us to get the tile started, then go to Hooters and watch the match there... the beer would be more expensive, but the view would be better. Either way, I should be "in". We could hit Lowe's or Home Depot in the morning to buy the tile, mortar and grout... you'll want your wife along to choose colors.
