Uri and Sylvia Schumm, who are my Alps riding buddies and are going on this trip with us, sent me this post last night. CNN shows the weather as being sunny and bright. Yet MSN says its raining!!!

I glanced at the ADOT site and other than that nightmare y'all have in Tucson you should be ok. There is construction on I-17 north of Phoenix heading to the Carefree Highway but I doubt there will be delays at the early time you will be coming thru but caution is advised....damn..... that sound official didn't it!!!

Also, Blaise Peters of AZ Beemers, BMWMOA Club #89, has made dinner reservations at the North Rim Canyon Lodge at 1930 hours for twenty diners under the AZ Beemers name. If you wanted to eat at a different time than that, the phone number of the Reservations Desk is 1-928-638-2611. Also Blaise suggested, and we'll do, a lunch/snack stop at the Jacobs Lake Lodge at 1330 hours; so, you have two opportunities to fuel up yourself and your FJR on the Ride Up To The Rim.

We'll count noses at Charly's and if we need to increase our reservation: We'll recall. By the way, a great bar at the Lodge!
