I'm sure there are lots of events going on this time of year but wanted to see if anyone around here was thinking of riding down to Laguna Seca for the World Superbike Races June 22-24th? My thought was to leave the Vancouver, WA area on the 21st ride down to Eureka, CA Via 101. Spend the night there and then down to the races the rest of the way on 101/ Hwy 1. On the way back I was thinking of leaving Sunday after the races and get up Redding then home.

If you have never been to this level of racing then you are missing out. There is nothing like waking up to the smell of race fuel and the sound of world class bikes warming up for a day of racing.

Thinking of going but probably driving since my friend doesn't ride. Will probably spend several days after the races showing her Carmel where I grew up in the 50's and early 60's. Laguna Seca was a shorter track then without the added section after turn one that leads up the hill. A lot different experience then.

I started going when it was a MotoGP race, around 6 years ago. The group is between 4 and 8 and we stay at the Motel 6 in Marina. Some take 3 days to ride down and others take 2 days. Same on the return trip. I usually leave on Monday morning 6am and ride to Grants Pass and then home by noon on Tues.

I missed it this year due to an internal bleed and was put in the ICU to get blood. Planning on doing it next year. We should get together and talk.
