Rider needs some HELP

George spent a week earlier this year riding his brand new shiny R1 around the left coast (yes, I'm envious). Now two weeks riding around somewhere near Texas on, I assume, his FJR (more envy) wearing out tires very quickly (even more envy)....... Guess I need to spend less time at work and more time on the road.

If the title of this post was more specific. like: 'Rider needs help with tire near --- whatever city he is near at the time--' then the post would have gotten more specific attention.

actually - I expect wisecracks - though not on a request for help.
I expect this forum is like most things in life - when the defication hits the fan - most folks take a walk instead of stepping up.

You can usually tell who you can count on - pretty quickly.
George has been at my house specifically for the purposes of removing parts from my bike to support his ride schedule...so yes, when the time comes I HAVE BEEN, and WILL BE there to help out a fellow rider. (As long as he keeps his keg full of AB)

And while I'm on a soapbox, I seem to recall a time when several members of this forum (members of another forum at the time) came to the aid of a fellow rider by way of purchasing him a motorcycle. That's right folks, a rider in need got assistance with the purchase of an FJR through donations of forum members. It's only fair to say that GZ was the organizer of that effort, so he knows the folks here will help out.

I guess he has been riding more than typing.

I guess he should have gotten a new tire somewhere along the way.

Listen, I am not trying to denigrate George. I love George.

But, what I don't like, is your accusatory tone like everyone let him down in a big emergency, when that is simply not the case.
Had his travels brought him my way, he'd of had a tire, a garage, a mount and balance, a bed, a steak, and comraderie. And lots and lots of sarcastic humour, from a group of guys dedicated to all of the above. +1 on da Skoots post. Sensitive, this one. More than once. ;)

Yeah-cheap drugs. Minnesota's been conducting raids on the border, sending busloads of Seniors to cop cheap Viagra and Altace. Been reading that the taps are are being turned off.

What do you need  (why do I feel I'm going to regret this  )....have someone going into northern states on the May 24 weekend....who can then ship to you from there :good: ....if you so desire....

Rad wants some vitamin V so he can get the high beam turned on there on his scooter.

:gah:

Oh, and not in the Amarillo area so couldn't have been much help.

I don't need anything Emoticon Man. This has been all over the news for a couple years now.

before you all denigrate George for poor planning - I asked him that question today -

He left 2 weeks ago on a brand new tire.

I guess he has been riding more than typing.

That, indeed, would make it a completely different situation for which my prior comments would have no bearing. My humble regrets for ASSuming otherwise. Skooter has covered the other part of my orignal comment.

As for you, Howie... Keep it up and I'll send skooter over to Flatretirementda to bugger you up the wrong way! :****:
