Since Wednesday is my only day off this week, I figured I'd ride up North and around Orangevale's neck o' the woods. I threw a dart at Google Maps and came up with Armadillo Willy's Roadhouse Barbecue, 9267 Greenback Ln., Orangevale, CA as a lunch spot. It sounds like just his kinda place, so I'll head up 49, which starts about 50 miles from my house, and enjoy the ride!

So, come along, meet me there, suggest somewhere better, go ride your own ride, or not. Either way, I won't be alone....

I'll be in the pickup, but I'll be there for lunch. Good to see old friends.

Can you estimate a time?

Gotta work, but if it's meeting for lunch, give me a time and I'll ride down to meet you all. Just gonna have to tell the boss that I don't give a **** if it's not a casual day, my only meeting is for lunch, and riding gear is the appropriate attire.

In fact, Bob -- if you're coming up 49 all the way to Auburn before heading down to Greenback, let me know**, I'll hook up with you in Auburn (I work on Auburn Folsom Road, which road is the best way to that Greenback address from Auburn -- kinda enjoyable 2 lane road Andrew used to ride home on after he and I would ride.)

** PM me if you don't still have my cell phone number.

Guyz, on Wednesday evening I'm chairing an Eagle Board of Review - or I'd be there, with bells on and a bottle of Jack. (yes, even old, crusty Scouters have a drink now and then)

You all have fun - just like Andrew would.

Celebrate his life !!

It's too funny that you picked Armadillo Willy's... I randomly worked there all summer, even though I only eat fish, I know I know a vegetarian working at a bbq place, what??? :) ... Most say jobs like these make you want to strive for more(and I agree), but I simultaneously found solace in restaurant work, just like my dad did when he was a kid... When he was a boy, my dad was a cook... once one of his meals turned a 4 star restaurant into a 5 star restaurant :)

One time after a long day Dad surprised me by showing up on his FJR to Good ole Willy's After hours on my feet I sat down and had lunch with him, I still remember what he ordered: the lunch deal with chopped brisket, a sasperilla root beer in the bottle and a side of potato salad(another day he pulled up and got the pulled pork sandwich). I gave him my employee discount since I didn't eat that day and he told me that he didn't come for the discount, he came to support the business that supported his daughter and then gave me a lofty tip, since he knew I had to share it equally between the cook and myself...

If you didn't mind maybe I could meet up with you all and have lunch too? It'd mean a lot to meet some of his fellow riders, regardless of the location...

The Citations getting a turbine repaired, so I'll be present in spirit but not in body. You guys could air mail me one of those briskets the young lady mentions-if you was stand up and all that is..... :p

If you don't mind watching grown men cry, we'd be honored to have you as our guest. Lunch is on me. All the non-meat you can eat....

Don't think I can make it across the country in time to make the 1:00pm lunch. But, please know that I'll be riding w/ you in spirit as a tribute to Andrew.

Yep, same here. It's 9 time zones from here to there and I probably would not even be hungry. But please make some room for me in spirit. :)

With work demands, I really can't take the time for an area ride, but I'll make the time to ride out to Orangevale for the gathering over lunch. I'll look forward to seeing you folks around 1 p.m...

I'd be there too if I could. You boys get the cryin' done before you leave...it's gonna be hard to concentrate on ridin' with all the hurt.

Exactly the reason I couldn't ride Sunday, even have new PR's mounted up.

Sorry I can't make the ride.
