Well I had a procedure done that will undoubtedly make my riding time more comfortable.

I am here to tell you the pitfalls of lifting heavy items all day for a living!

Boys and girls I am talking about hemies and not the kind under the hood!

this is not for the faint of hart!

Might I say only to google the words hemorrhoid banding! X3!!

Has any of you hade a medical problem that sidelined you from riding or made it unbearable?

im feeling much better!!!

On the serious side, look up H. Marc who had to give up his FJR *during* a road rally and find someone to return his FJR home nearly the whole country's width. On another serous side, search out zzkenoman. H. Marc's situation sucks because it is caused by natural selection. ZZ's problem is from a near death accident. Same result either way, sitting to ride has become unbearable for the both of them.

Not trying to trivialize your situation; the pain, agony and err, the rather personal issues you have to share. I've never been there or done that, but have lived with and worked with others that have. Deepest sympathies 'cause I've seen how it sucks. Pain hurts! At least you will heal and life will go on, ZZ may not be so lucky. Stand proudly. Inflatable doughnuts rule! Perhaps you can convince the woman of your life that all eternal happiness is derived from a Russell Saddle (with a doughnut hole, factory installed  ) Sit sofly, and limit lifting to 12 oz. and recover quickly!

I ran wide and hit a tree, broke my collar bone, shoulder blade, 3 ribs and lacerated my liver. 6 days in ICU. Does that count? B)

Double hernia surgery. Blew apart entire lower abdominal wall. I now have the biomedical mesh covering the same approximate area as a pair of boxers. That was 2 years ago. Still hurts.

But I have a cool C-section scar!

Oh, geez Hal, you best make a stop at the jewelers on your way home!

For me, these two busted ribs haven't been too bad, but my arthritis is creeping into my left hand and foot. It runs in the family on my Dad's side and there are some serious crips over there from this particular botheration. I might have five years left of riding if things progress as typical, but I don't intent to let this wee malady get the better of me - even if that means chucking the clutchers for the AE.

Best of luck with your recovery; have what you have as well, but so far, not bad enough to have to have any drastic measures to correct. Me, some joint pain (hips, knees, elbows, back), a little arthritis in the hands and various other minor aches and pains. Long rides makes my body a little (sometimes, alot, sore) but the mental healing makes it worth it.

Try riding with Parkinson's for reeal aggravation. Limits your riding time to match meds and that gets shorter by the year. But has 2 advantages - 1. you kind of cancel out the 4,500 rpm buzz. 2. They give you LOTS of room in the turns on track day.

Don't piss off a 225lb rider on a 600lb missle with PD! It just isn't healthy.

Gee trini thats a pain in the arse. I had that splendid procedure done several years back. Best wishes. Them truck tire/wheels are damn awfull heavy.

As a follow up to my earlier post I got the results back from my recent MRI. I did a number this time. Four herniated disks, Three in the lumbar region and one Cervical, guess thats why I'm a hurtin mofo.

Physical therapy and pain management for now. Is it still cool to have a therapist? or does that only apply on the left coast? Appointment with a specialist Friday and the knife ain't happening unless it's absofreakin nesessary.

Had a external thrombostic roid rupture while asleep about 18-19 years ago. When I woke up that morning and pulled back the covers I dam near fainted from all the blood in the bed. Would wager I lost close to a pint. I started looking for the horses head but did not find one, then I figgered out what had happened.

Drove myself to the Doc's office, he strapped me down, tilted the table, ass in the air, and the last thing I remember was him saying this might hurt a bit............................I'll stop this story here

A couple of years ago, 24 hours after returning home from a 7-day bike trip, I had to have an emergency appendectomy. I went to a local doctor, got diagnosed, drove myself (in my cage) 60 miles to a hospital, and an hour later the appendix ruptured on the operating table.

I still wonder if somehow the 7-day bike trip might have had something to do with the appendicitis. But all this happend while I had a Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic, before I saw the light and got my FJR. And, I'm really glad it did not happen while I was in some of the remote areas of Southwest Colorado, where I was a couple of days before.

But yeah, this slowed down my riding for a couple of weeks.

Down in the back right now. Got a disk pressing on a nerve, and it locks up. I'm trying to arrange another epidural steroid injection, hold me over until mid-August. Then I'll man up and get it fixed. I've got a lot of work-related travel between now and then.

It's pissing me off, 'cause I bought the new Caberg flip helmet with the integrated sun visor, and I haven't been able to try it out.
