How about it? Anyone riding? Don't want to do household chores, want to ride instead and would love company! :)

Will bring the SV for a run around the hills and the Feej if we are going any significant distance, open to both, but don't want to do another run to Napa/Calistoga area, did that the last 3 times I think.

hey sam...

the weather looks as if it could not be more agreeable - sunny in the low to mid 70's.

having just returned from a DC vacation on Wednesday night i have some family commits to attend to this weekend.

be safe and have fun - i know you to be a safe rider, so i hope you have plenty of participation.

dave mig.

Would, but the bike it tore apart getting a fuse block and a starcom, oil change, etc. etc.

I don't ride with pinko commie liberals. :glare: Oh wait. I AM a pinko commie liberal. Okay, forget that part.

I like the idea of riding, but think I'm gonna wanna stay around the house and f**k off all weekend. Checkswrecks and I were just talking about that over lunch this week when he was visiting: How when we ride to work every day, getting back on the bike doesn't always feel like a fun idea. I want to paint and draw much of the time. And Fang probably wants some of my time.

What could possibly appeal to me is like a three-hour ride Sunday from 10 to 1 or so. If you want to come to the Bay Area, we could do the Three Bridges ride, and I could show you some great sites in and from San Francisco.

Let me know. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I will come to the Bay on Sunday. Sounds like fun, but will there be lane splitting involved? If so, you will probably leave me in the dust surrounded by cagers, I am a lane splitting wimp when I am on the Feej.

I would like to ride Saturday as well, I got nothing better to do this weekend :)

Looks like Saturday is out for me, going to go see dad for lunch as he has decided last minute to sort of come this way.

Let me know what works out for you on Sunday and if you feel like riding. The Three Bridges Ride seems very interesting to me, not usually something I would or could do every weekend! :)

If not, a couple of fellow FJRForum riders were kind enough to invite me to join them on their short Sunday foothill romp - so you have nothing to feel bad about and it gives me options! :)

Sam

The wife (Vstar 1300) and I were thinking of coming up to Old Sacramento through the Delta from San Mateo either day for lunch and then getting home ?someway? Nothing decided other than she wants to ride through the Delta at least one way.

Roy

Hi Roy,

Thanks for offering to meet me somewhere on your ride to Old Sacramento, if you were riding Saturday and I didn't make last minute plans for Saturday lunch then I would have loved to meet you somewhere in the Delta.

Some other time soon! Have a fun and safe ride with the Mrs.

Sam, let's plan this for another time. Urban riding is a drag for a lot of (most?) people, but I like riding into and through San Francisco. The way I go is beautiful IMHO, then over the GGB and through Sausalito. Lots of photo opps. Maybe we ought to make it a forum ride one of these days. Not a lot of filtering (my new favorite word for splitting or sharing, borrowed from the Europeans), except maybe getting to the toll booths on the Bay Bridge, but lots of space. And the Embarcadero can be tight.

Anyway, I look forward to it. We could stop at the Wall on the way there and check out the views and the bikes.

Have a great ride Sunday!

Hans

I'm planning on heading down to the Berryessa area (128, 121, berryessa/knoxville rd) tomorrow with a buddy that rides an RT. I live in Rancho Cordova. I know it's close to the Napa/Calistoga area that you said you didn't want to do but I figured I'd throw out the invite.

Thanks for the replies guys! I just came back from Saturday's ride - RsvlFeej and I planned one last minute and headed out for a fun spin before splitting up so I could go to my lunch engagement. Spotted OM on Foresthill Road. No other FJR's spotted this day.

I think I will head out with the FJR riders in Placerville tomorrow. Thank you for the invite CordovaRider, but I have been to Berryessa once on the FJR and twice on the SV already - time to go somewhere else, but please keep me in mind next time you would like some company riding, we are about 10 minutes from each other and I am available to ride most weekends.

Didn't take many pictures, besides I wasn't on the FJR, brought my SV out again, as I was going to do some goat trail/dirt road riding near Colfax and the SV is just better suited for this, but Patrick and I had fun going to Colfax the country roads way...

Safari Trails on Salmon Falls.

Stopped and turned around at Foresthill Worton's Market.

That's quite the windshield, size does matter...

Patrick's elated to be riding...

Snow capped mountains...

Said our goodbyes in Colfax, Patrick headed home back the way we came...

Some weekend in May would be perfect for this, please keep me posted! :)

Nice little putt, Sam. WAY too many LEOs and looky-loos to blow the carbon out, but still got in some nice sweepers and a couple stretches of technical stuff. Felt good to do something other than commute on the old girl.

Next time we'll have to go play early enough so we're on the fun roads before the rest of the world wakes up...

Yes - always WAY too many LEOs on 49 and Foresthill (without my radar detector - I felt naked). However, not a single LEO sighting on the back roads way to Colfax, some mighty fun twisties along the way also, do you remember I pointed to a certain road sign and gave a thumbs up? That is Dog Bar road, great little stretch and takes you straight into Grass Valley the non-boring way (that is not on boring cager infested Hwy 49 stretch from Auburn to Grass Valley). That is for another day and it is also a fun way to get to Empire Mine State Park - maybe for next time.

Ah, been on Dog Bar starting near Cozzins corners, but never from that far south, so I didn't recognize it - wasn't sure why you were gesturing. There was a sweet series of corners on that road I used to fine-tune the new suspenders a couple of years ago. Hm, another few weeks and the majority of the sand should be off the 49/88/70... Gotta start working on that next kitchen pass.
