Its windshield week for me so I apologize for multiple posts. I have a '09. Its got the new '09 one piece metal "W" bracket that the shield mounts to. Hence, no possibility of angling the shield more towards the rider with spacers. I'm 6-1" with a 31" inseam. I am looking for long riding day solutions to noise and buffeting. I have had multiple different bikes and played with various shields on all of them, so I know that a smooth, clean, ride is possible at 70mph + speeds. I have tried the stock (terrible), the Vstream (better), and the CalSci in XL (better still). Even with the Calsci I still find my self crouching lower than I like to reduce buffeting. Maybe I need a taller shield, and am still thinking about that. The Rifle shield looks interesting because it appears to be designed to tilt the shield more towards the rider. In my experience, the more tilt, the smoother the air flow.

Anybody try the Rifle on a '09? I am in the L.A. area. Love to see one.

my review

With a Russell seat and a Penske shock that raises the rear 1"+ I had to go and inch taller than stock tall. It is now a big shield but I like it a lot.

I have an '08 and have the Rifle installed. I'm in North County San Diego (coastal) if you want to come down and test ride a bike with the Rifle

I'm 6'0 with a 32" inseam. I usually ride with the screen 1/3-> 1/2 up.

I had a Rifle on my '90 Concours for almost 100k miles. I've now put over 10k miles on the FJR since I got it in late April of this year - with a Rifle on for almost all but the first few miles. I really like having it. My first FJR test ride was a buddies '07 with the vstream which was decently quiet but I didn't like the excess buffetting in my mid-section (My Aerostitch is a little loose so was quite noticeable).

I'm contemplating switching my days off this upcoming week to join the ride on Wed to SoCal’s LD Riders Last Ride Of the Year to Guadalupe, CA

You available for that ride?

I am looking at the same thing. We are about the same size. I got you by 15 lbs but same height. I will keep checking this posts. If anyone has other ideas let us know.

I am going to take the ride suggested by Lawrence. I noticed that Rifle's offices are in Atascadero, which is somewhat on the way from SoCal where I live. I may try and drop by and see if the Rifle with angle optimizers wil work on my '09. I will keep you all posted.

Glad to met you Lawrence, or anyone else, on the way up. I live very close to PCH in the Pacific Palisades area.
