The bike was serviced and ready to go Wednesday, but I didn't want to take it home in rain and thunderstorms. went over to the dealer(Slaight's Yamaha Center, Canton,IL) and did all the paper work, rode around the lot for a while, the bike jest felt right, roll on power just awesome, and so smooth. Coming out of a u-turn at the end of the lot I twisted a little to much, George the shop manager said he saw air under the front tire.

When I parked it in front of the shop, everyone at the dealership grouped on it, from the owner to the accountant, They all seemed just as high on the bike as I was, They are a small town dealer and this was the second FJR sold, they sold the 03 to the friend who made me do this in the first place( he let me ride his). Then the rain started, and I had to go back to work anyway.

Next morning, Thursday, I was back to pick the bike up, George rolled it out of the shop, it glowed! It looked like they had spent all night polishing that bike. After a walk around with George and Brandon( the salesman) I fired It up and rode the back roads to Galesburg to vist with our branch office, business concluded, I took the the slab back to Peoria. which leads to the following obervations.

1. the bike is very smooth at all speeds, available torque available at any RPM awesome.

2. Ride, it just feels planted, stable, nothing seems to upset this bike.

3. manuvers, just think about it and you do it.

4. Break in, How do you stick to the book, half way back on the interstate, look down at the speedo, 80MPH, I didn't tell it to do that.

5. The baiters that have been telling us waiters that the 06 is a slow bike, are correct, normal 20 min. ride home from work took over 1 1/2 hours.

6. Dealer/Service, even tho this is only the second FJR ever sold here the service manager and

his staff have taken the time to learn about the bike, I don't know everything they did when they put it together, what I do know is everything seems to be spot on, controls, suspension, even the headlights are adjusted.

:yahoo:

Congrats airboss.

Get used to it... my bike *still* doesn't know when to go home. :D

Sounds like good news all around. Don't feel picked on by the baiters; there's a hoary tradition of baiting the waiters. Ride it like your ex-wife's lawyer is after you.

When I call my wife and say I'll be home in 30 minutes, she asks if I have the bike. If the the answer is yes, then she triples the time... :D :) ;)
