My facebook post below....And change of Xmas-Eve plans. Debbie and I are heading home to gear-up for a Pappa X-mas Eve ride. Christmas will always be there, and we will postpone some of our plans today to do this ride. Maybe it's just fitting as well, as we are gifted w 70F weather today. Don's way of spreading the Chandler warmth!

VERY Sad day today learning of the passing of my Motorcycling and Sport-Touring Mentor (and just a truly great guy) Mr.
Don Stanley from Chandler AZ. He was so supportive of my switching from the Yamaha FJR to the present BMW K16. Everyone else threw the jealous stones (and rocks) but, Don being even keeled on just about everything, took me under his wing. All of his messages and support will always be treasured to no end. You could never tell he was a few years older, either I came up, or he came down, didn't matter nor did we even think about it. We were on the same page, and that included life in general.
Wow, I'm so shocked and sad right now I don't know what else to say, but my heart and family goes out to all his loved ones and family, especially Donna, his love of his life.

Debbie just mentioned that we should do a Xmas eve ride today in memory. Well, such a small thing, but I think he would of liked his friends to do a ride in memory of him. So for today... we will ride for Don. I will also purpose a group ride in his memory this Spring ('16) as well. He had tons of Bike Buddies, they/we all adored him. His Irish humor was a bit demented sometimes, but that's what made him "our own" Pappa Chuey!. We will do him proud in his name.
So my friend, ride proud up in Heaven, whether it's on a Yami, Harley or Beemer?.... who cares as long as you're riding my friend. (that's always been your logic, at least towards me!) RIP.
