I was under the understanding 176 north of Tryon going to Saluda in NC was getting resurfaced this year as well as 276 going up to Caesars Head in SC. Anyone know of these roads status currently? Several of my coworkers and friends like to go mountain riding and prefer these 2 entrances to get in from our location but will use 178 going to Rosman or ol 9 to Lake Lure again this year if no change. Also any thoughts on similar fun routes from any of you, we try to stay off the 4 lane roads tho.

Hey Walter - I just went down the grade a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe how bad it was!! I haven't heard about them repaving it but as bad as it is I don't know how they could put it off much longer. Our last trip going up to Saluda I was following a fella I hadn't ridden with before and we took some great back roads up to Saluda....of course I can't for the life of me remember them now. After seeing 176 I think I will get the route from him and try to post it up. Can't go wrong with 178, 9 is fine too just not as much fun.

I went to the MotoAmerica race down in Braselton this weekend with Pa n law and he was telling me the same thing. This is great news!! He said 176 is written all over all the way up with the work that needs to be done. I do love that ride up, I look forward to it being done.
Side note: you've got a ttr 125 too!! Great bike!! My daughter has a honda xr100, she loves her Honda. Anyway we ride down at Enoree OHV a lot, have you ever been down there? Great trails!

Unfortunately 276 up to Caesar's Head is still pretty pot holed...that's alright, I'll just meander west to 178...
