today we rode from clackamas, oregon,up 224 to detroit lake, road was repaved last fall and the mild winter has been good to the new asphalt, some snow on sides of road, but road on top is mostly dry, perfect day for it,about 58 degrees sitting still and 48 plus moving. WTF ,I didnt know we had any wolves on this side of the mountain, but just past the turn off to timothy lake, a big black wolf walked accross the road about 50 yds ahead and just looked at us and went over the bank, what a shock to see this, pretty cool if you like wolves, last year it was mid april before road was open :yahoo: :yahoo:

Made the mistake of ending up in Detroit on Sunday mid-day...cheese and rice what a CF that was. Nothing but H-D's, leather and assless chaps. We came in from the 216 side beginning in Fossil. Nice roads and once up in the forest there wasn't any traffic, so in the end it was worth the trip.

Wish I knew you were in the area, I would have joined in for a bit.

I guess I should have been clearer Ray. I should have written *a Sunday*...this was last summer, end of June. I'll give you a shout when I end up in the area again.

Assless chaps ... And there's George ... WOW! Did NOT see that coming. No, sir.

Greg97224 and I considered the Clackamas River route for our ride today but assumed it was still closed. So we followed WA 14 from Vcr east to Lyle and then took SR142 along the Klickitat River almost to Goldendale and swung west to Glendale and Trout Lake for a great burger and fries. What a gorgeous sunny day and practically no traffic once we got off 14. I truly love that route on 142 along the Klickitat. It is a superb piece of riding heaven.

Wound up back in the office by 3 PM.

Damn...
