Roadable Airplane

I got this from the EAA website and thought I'd post it since it does have a motorcycle element to it. The "roadable aircraft" has been tried before without much real success. This is one man's idea of how to accomplish it. It's not quite completely operable yet as you'll read in the article but it's pretty interesting! There's a video towards the bottom to see it on the road (it seems to have a reverse gear too) and some flight video without the ground drivetrain attached (that's the part that still needs to adjustment).

"The engine then slides forward to a location between the main gear, where it is rotated 90 degrees and tucked nicely out of the way."

It seems as though he has this figured out as well

Well, there is a quick part in the video of him taxiing with the ground powertrain stowed between the mains, but apparently there are some other considerations they are finalzing to be able to actually get airborne that way. Sor far they have not actually flown with it attached.
