What is that 0.0000001% of his salary? (that must have hurt his wallet...)

"PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be fined up to $563 for driving his motorcycle without a license and failing to wear a helmet, Pittsburgh police said on Monday.

Roethlisberger's motorcycle crashed headfirst into a car in Pittsburgh last week. The 24-year-old quarterback, who led the Steelers to the Super Bowl title last year, broke his jaw and nose and sustained a concussion. When he was released from the hospital, he said he was lucky to be alive, and if he ever got back on a motorcycle, he would wear a helmet.

Pennsylvania repealed a law requiring motorcyclists to wear helmets in 2003, but those with less than two years of riding experience are required to wear them.

Since Roethlisberger was not licensed to ride his motorcycle, he is deemed to have less than two years of experience and will be subject to fines of between $106.50 and $281.50 for each offense, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Theresa Cummings said.

Neither Roethlisberger, nor the car he hit, were exceeding the 35 mph (56 kph) speed limit, accident investigators said. They now consider the case closed, Cummings said."

It may be a fraction of his salary, but that's the law... you can't change it on the fly after the fact (although doesn't some Nordic country scale your speeding tickets based on your income?).

They are also going to site the car for failure to yield the right of way.

Looking at the picture of the rear tire, I'm I seening a 4 inch wide chicken stripe? ;) Worse yet, do I see the stripe is actually at the edge of the tread

I wasn't saying he should pay more, more like what's the point of a fine in a case like this.

Hopefully as much air/press time this story has received it might convince a few to do it right.

Get the training, get a license and wear some gear if you plan to ride.

(Even if it is a helmet with your flip-flops :glare: )

Saw one of those this weekend...
