I'm so proud of my alma mater by not only taking care of business in the SEC championship but annihilating Florida in the process. Earlier this year I picked Bama to go to the nat'l title game and win the nat'l title, and I still stand by that statement. But I was incorrect by picking Colt McCoy to win the Heisman. Ingram from Alabama is going to get the nod and become the Crimson Tide's first Heisman winner.

Happy Roll Tide Everyone!!!

I think the Heisman race will be interesting, and wouldn't be so quick to annoint your guy. He had a good night, but a crappy one last week, just like Colt was fantastic last week, and struggled at times against the Blackshirts last night. The award should be based on the whole season, not just the last game. Despite this, I understand that around 100 votes were cast before this weekend's game, perhaps to reflect that the regular season was over last week, for conferences w/o championship games. Not saying Ingram wouldn't be a good choice, just that I wouldn't be announting him just yet.

And for any Husker fans out there, Suh is a man amongst boys! Criminy!

That's an understatement!

Regardless, I hope the 'Horns and the Tide both have a good game in Jan..... Of course, I want the 'Horns to win...

If watched last week's game against Auburn you would've seen that Auburn put 2-4 guys on Ingram every time Ingram got the ball. Ingram did ok his first 3 carries, about 5 yards each. But after wards the weight-on-weight deficit was too much to overcome. Ingram didn't have a crappy performance - he was out-manned by multiple defenders. You try running against 5 DE's and a safety at the line of scrimmage and see how you do....

Ingram has been consistent all year long and has performed outstanding in the nation's toughest football conference.

Sure Saban could've let Ingram play every down against Florida Int'l and Chattanooga, but he pulled him out early. However Mac Brown and Urban Meyer kept their Heisman contenders in games against the so-called high-school teams. Saban and the team demonstrate class, Brown and Meyer don't. McCoy had 470 yards against UCF? Really? Wow, that was so tough I bet McCoy never had to adjust his helmet after a play. In one of the toughest places to play as a visitor, Death Valley, Ingram had 144 yards rushing.

In THE BIGGEST GAME of ALL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL for 2009, against NUMBER 1 DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPION FLORIDA, against the #1 DEFENSE, Ingram had a big night and embarrassed the Gator defense. And not only with running and scoring but provided excellent blocking and screens on passing and sweep plays.

In the Big 12 title against #22 Nebraska whose defense is not ranked as high as Florida, McCoy threw 3 interceptions and, as you said about Ingram, had a crappy performance. McCoy almost gave the game away by horrible clock mgmt the last 3 downs of the game. This was on a neutral field, not at Nebraska's stadium.

Ingram is the best player in college football. He wins the trophy, McCoy is 2nd, and Gerhart is 3rd. Suh, Spiller, Moore, and Keenum will take 4-7 spots. Suh had a great night last night. He may wind up in 2nd or 3rd slot but I seriously doubt all the voters will replace Ingram for Suh.

:fool:

Saban has class? Whoooeeee, Elmer! Put down that SEC moonshine, you've had enough!!! The only people in this country that think Saban has class are:

1. his current employer

2. fans of his current employer

3. some of his immediate family (maybe)

You seem to be in group 2, and who knows, maybe group 3?!? Everywhere else, Saban is viewed as a punk and a total ********. I can't speak about Meyer, but Mack Brown is as classy of a guy as they come. You don't live in Austin; maybe if you did, you would know a bit more about the guy.

As far as who is going to win the Heisman, it's not going to be decided by two clowns arguing on the internet.

:argue:

You have the same number of votes as I do. Good luck with your wishes.

Yes, Saban has class. He could've let Ingram and Julio Jones play all day against UT Chatt to beef their stats but he didn't. Ingram said he wanted other rb's to get some experience. Saban could've gone for another td against Florida last night but held back. I've lost count how many times Brown and Meyer continue to pad the stats when the game is already won or it's against a far-inferior opponent. There is no reason for McCoy to play beyond the 2nd qtr against UCF. Lucky for the program McCoy wasn't seriously injured in that game. No class.

My uncle coaches in college football and knows most of the coaches in the SEC. I stay in touch with him and others that know SEC football. Saban is highly-respected by those that know him. Saban demands discipline and focus. He took an LSU program spiraling down into hell and turned it around and to a nat'l title. He is now doing the same in Tuscaloosa. So you mock a leader who aims for the best and requires such from his team? You mock a man who took an inferior LSU program to a nat'l title? You're the one drinking monkey juice.

I don't want to get into a pissing contest even though it seems I started it... lol... but there are no rumors or facts about any of Saban's close friends or family dissing him. In fact it has been accurately reported he still maintains close ties to friends in Baton Rouge and Miami.

Current employer: there is no dissent whether factual or fact from the Univ of Alabama towards Saban. Get your facts straight. Not only am I an alumnus of the school but I maintain my connections to those that know the inner-workings of the athletic dept.

Former employer: there is always dissent when ANY coach leaves ANY collegiate athletic program, whether it be football, baseball, or swimming. Rick Pitino left Kentucky for Louisville, Tubby left Ole Miss for Auburn, Stoops left Florida for Oklahoma, professional players leave one team for another like Warner leaving the Chiefs for the Cards. And just so you'd know (because you don't) that when Miami opened the door for schools to interview Saban that LSU didn't even respond. It wasn't because they didn't want him it was because they couldn't afford to pay-off Miles and then hire Saban.

If Saban was such a "punk" or a "********" then how come the best players want to play for him? Go look at his recruiting classes since being at LSU. Do you think Belichik is a punk as well?

You're statements are incorrect. Sorry to bust your bubble.

"Classy" might not be the adjective of choice when he stated on Dec 21, 2006 that "I am not going to be the Alabama coach", and then meeting with Alabama officials eleven days later. Saben is obviously a great coach, but the way he handled his departure from Miami rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Comparing the way Alabama and Texas played yesterday the only kernel of hope I can find in the poop is that for the first time all year the Longhorns will go into the game as decided underdogs.

Hook 'Em!!!!!!

I am now a Bamaliever. It was surprising the way they dominated Florida, a team that could hardly be mistaken as the Little Sisters of the Poor. Not to wish the horns bad luck but they really need to bring their game face, or else.

Afterwards Saban publicly apologized to the Miami program and to the fan base. He made an error but he apologized and owned up to it. In the end Miami got rid of a coach who wasn't cut out for the NFL without having to pay out the contract. Dolphin fans should be happy.

Bob Stoops left Florida for OK. Gator fans felt abandoned by the coach they perceived should've been Spurrier's replacement. We can go on an on about this point. This is a part of both collegiate and professional sports.

I can give you countless stories by other coaches who have done worse than Saban's leaving Miami, been called out for it, and never owned up to it... errors that hurt their programs: coaches like Tuberville, Meyer, Fulmer, etc.

Washington State would've kicked all their butts!
