Do you think this indicates he has already talked with Ducati? One assumes this isn't a veiled or empty threat if he has some "substance" on which to base his possible jump to another manufacturer.

Even if he hasn't spoken to Duc yet, can you imagine them NOT wanting to work w/ Rossi? From the perspective of both competitive racing and public relations that would be HUGE for Ducati.

He's in a position where he can make demands on this. After what he was able to pull off on the Yamaha on his first year out, and with the bikes being as close as they are today, I don't think there are too many people out there that think that there's a bike out there that would keep him from competing for the title (except the Ilmor and KR3, of course)

I suppose I was wondering if there might be an "open door" for him at Ducati? Or, since he is "the one and only Rossi", pretty much any manufacturer would find a way to put him on one of their bikes?

I mean, who could blame him or them?

I think you're right, Mike. He can write his own ticket. But I think that it's especially true with Ducati. It's an Italian thing. Can you imagine how ape-**** the Italian fans would go if an Italian rider on an Italian bike won the Italian GP?

Crazy.

That's what is going to happen when the guy on the left lands on the bike on the right! B)

I don't think Marco is going too wait for Rossi to do it.

More so than an someone from anY other country ..... :fans: .....

He should have made the move half way through this season and been on the Ducati next year. Hindsight is a great thing eh?

Anyone who can afford him will welcome him with open arms (should he choose them).

Let's wait to see what happens with Rossi on Bridgestones next year.

It's time FIM went to a single tire brand. Worked for SBK, as now the SBK racing is, in my opinion, more exciting to watch than MotoGP. Yes, there are differences in the bike, but you can't deny that the combo of Ducati, Stoner, and Bridgestone is what won the championship. Merely putting Rossi on a Ducati is no guarantee of a championship.

BUT putting Rossi on Bridgestones with any bike would certainly even things up with Ducati. MotoGP is tires, tires, and tires... All the major manufacturers should be about even next year.

My 2 cents...

I would love to see Rossi with Ducati - what a party!
How true. The Italian fans are already nuts over Rossi. Rossi has always been pretty good with the fans. Watching him win "at home" on a Duck would be a treat. Plus, Ducatis are cool. Yeah, I said it.

Yes, Ducs are cool. Their just not made for real people (olde phat guyz like ME  ) riding in a real world. But they're fun to watch and listen to.

I would love to see him on a Ducati. MM2 you would look GOOD on a 1098.
