While visiting the Lewisburgh, West Virginia area, more specifically "Bridge Day" at the New River Gorge, we (Iris and I) happened to notice another Feejer in our review mirrors. We pulled over at the intersection of Route 3 and 20 and found out that the other Feejer was mike25. It was nice meeting you Mike and enjoyed our breif conversation. We logged in just under 2000 miles for our trip from New York and back. Friday was the only rainy day that we had, however it was on the best part of Rt.219 thru West Va. Other than that we had beautiful days and roads to match.

Heidi, sorry you could not make it. We were looking forward to seeing you again.

I sure hope you didn't buzz down I81 without stopping by to say Hey and allowing us to treat you to a Swanson TV dinner.

We were gonna call you and ask, "what's for dinner?" Serioiusly though....we were going to try to swing by but we decided to go a different route. We were up around Dubois PA. No slab riding at all.....it was lovely.

We look forward to next Spring and hopefully we can hook up again and go for another ride.

Iris and Jim,

Did you kids happen to log your trip on GPS? I'd be interested in seeing the route you found down to WV as I would love to find a nice route down to EOM next year but we're not much into the slab scene...

TIA

Fred,

We took I87 South (for ten minutes) to Rt. 20,West. ....Rt.20 to Rt. 146, West....Rt.146 to Rt. 443 North.....Rt.443 to Rt.30 South.....Rt.30 to Rt.17 West......Rt 17 to exit 87, Rt 191 South....Rt.191 to PA. Rt. 370 South.....Rt.370 to Rt. 171 South...go a couple miles or so South to a County road (not sure of the number) West over to Rt.92 West ....Rt.92 to Rt. 6 West.....Rt.6 to Rt 87 South..... Rt. 87 to Rt. 220 West...Rt. 220 to Rt. 120 West......Rt.120 to Rt. 219 South ......take Rt 219 all the way thru PA, the corner of Maryland and West Va. to Lewisburg and beyond.

If your interested, we took another route back North (equal to our trip South, especially in West Va., twisties, twisties and yes more twisties). :yahoo: :yahoo:

Funny you should say that. I'm meeting with the folks on Sunday regarding the event(s?) for next year. I'm not sure if we're going to do one around here again - I hope so. We're meeting in Winchester, VA, so, that should give you an idea as to where at least 1 of the rides will be.

Fred,

PM me with your email address and I'll send a couple of .gpx files of some routes that I've used...

Ditto Jim.....

Mr. B, no wonder we were the only two FJR's in the Briar Inn parking lot! <_<

Randy, I could smell the grill. Next time for sure.

Jim

So like... where are the pictures of Bridge Day? I heard that some guy broke his leg while base jumping.

Really, really sorry to miss you guys. Definitely next time, though.

And about the only FJR's in Brier Inn's parking lot... was there a shitload of Harleys? When I called to cancel my reservation Candy, the lady at the front counter gave me a "heads up" that a HD group was coming in for the night.

Being the great hotel that they are, Brier Inn did not charge me for the reservation that I had to cancel 5 hours in advance of check-in.

What great folks!

Heidi,

There were probably at best, a dozen Harleys that I saw. The best part was that Iris and I helped our selves to their bike wash area, that the Hotel furnished for them (hose, soap, pails, clean rags). :yahoo:

Damn. I could'a got you and Iris to wash my bike with Harley soap? That would have been worth the trip alone...

As you should have!

BTW... that bike wash was there for us Feej folks last month. Almost everytime that I saw Jeff Ashe he was over there cleaning his bike.

Has Iris figured out the mouse in her forks, yet?

It's html. Open the quote with a tag without the leading slash, end it with one with the slash. It should do that for you automagically if you click the " Reply button at the bottom of the post
