Riding up for lunch with Ken the HD Guy. 1pm-ish.

We came, we saw, we ate. Sort of....

I meet up with Ken the HD Guy in downtown South Boston, Virginnie. He rides south from Lynchburg and I north from central NC.

Problem is the place we were going to eat is closed on Wednesdays. And another place down the street has its folks "On Vacation! See you Friday!" Well dang! What to do? A quick scan on the smart phone brings up all the usual fast food carp and some local places including the Frontier Diner. "Frontier?" says I, "saw that on the way in. It's open, folks were coming out as I passed. Looked like a real sh**hole so it oughta be good."

Off we go, just a couple of miles to The Diner, next to the Budget Inn.

We pull up and Ken says, "wow! Looks like my kind of place!"

And it was! Good ol' down home country decor and cooking, with sides you don't normally find: pickled beets, turnip greens, fried okra. Mmmmm!!

I got the pork chop. Delicious! Absolutely killer!!

Ken got the hamburger steak, smothered with onions and gravy. He normally doesn't eat much but this time he left nothing behind.

Previous RTE's have been ok but this place is deserving of a repeat engagement.....
