Great, thank you... Pick one. We'll do lunch this summer.

Wnat to pick your brain on riding the Bighorn Mountains. Been there, but think we have not seen all there is to see and ride. Also planning on a Southern Oregon, Northern California - Reno ride. Since you and Festar seem to have despoiled the area we'd like to get some ideas about that ride as well.

Big Horns: well, the ride up 14A from Lovell past the Medicine Wheel to Burgess Junction - radical grade, some switchbacks - is extraordinary, pretty sure you've done that. Burgess down to Ranchester is awesome - all good tight twisties - and best run real early to beat the (light) traffic, betting you've done that too... How about Shell Canyon? Love that ride up 14 past Shell Falls. We try to hit this one at first light, too, to get a clean run all the way. If its rained (or anytime, really) watch for fallen rocks. Also liked Dirty Annie's at the bottom of the Canyon for both breakfast and dinner - prime was delicious, sassy staff - and stay very often with the folks at the Shell Campground - cabins, RV and tents now with a little merc with ice and beer. They'll provide you with a BBQ grill (get some steaks, salad, spuds if you're coming from Greybull) and rolls for breakfast. We had a very negative dining experience at the saloon/grill across from Shell Campground but I've heard it's under new owners (no wonder), though we did enjoy a bagpiper there one night.

Kevin, Big Sky hits it pretty good, though my favorite is 16 from Buffalo over to Ten Sleep, Up to Lovell, then to Burgess Junction, Ranchester then home. It's a long day but great scenery and roads.

From Red Lodge this is a good run:

It was a big day but the wife and I rode this loop out of Red Lodge three years ago.

Big Horn loop from Red Lodge

Throwing Bear's Tooth pass and Chief Joseph Highway was just too irresistible. Coming down ALT 14 from the Big Horns was very nice also.

We got into Bearcreek too late to get a table for dinner, but had a cold one, seen the pigs race, and continued on.

I might have been mistaken and finished off the route like this.

Might have been this route on second thought
