Looks like I finally get a "Ride" day this Saturday 9/10 and plan to enjoy a nice run across the Cherohala. I plan on hitting TWO in Suches around 9:00am for breakfast and heading out by 9:30. Plan to run 60-68 up to Tellico Plains. Fuel stop in Tellico Plains, across the Cherohala, then possibly a late lunch in Robinsville. Will then run 129 all the way back down to Gainsville and then home to Loganville. If anyone else has a hall pass, your more than welcome to join. Just look for a Dark sided 04 Gen-1 at TWO.

Photos, or it didn't happen. (One son and his wife at my house this weekend.)

OK Hud I'll snap some at the planned stops, but I'm one of those riders that prefers to keep going and not stop for the Kodak moments.

OK Not much of a ride report, but I did capture a few photos. It was an absolute beautiful day. I hope everyone was able to get out enjoy it. As mentioned, it was an early start, so I was surprised to see a large crowd already at TWO when I pulled in a little before 9:00. There was an "EOM" version of COG going on so there were a lot of riders staying there at the camp grounds and cabins. Had a good breakfast (it is the most important meal of the day).

Then it was gearing up to head north for a fun run up 60 and 68 up to Tellico Plains.

After a quick pit-stop at the Exxon to top off the tank, started to gain elevation. Typically I prefer not to hit the pull-offs, but decided to hit one of the early ones and snap a couple of shots as proof.

It's hard not to have a smile on one's face with such a wonderful day!

The majority of the trip across the mountains was pleasant and un-eventful, but it is hard to cover this much distance and not get stuck behind a large group of pirates on a slow, chrome scrapping pace. Coming down into Robbinsville was brutal. There was a long train of more than 20+ bikes piled up behind these clowns and in typical fashion, they had no desire to let anyone pass them. Was so frustrated that I decided not to stop in Robbinsville, but instead make some time heading down to Blairsville. Was looking forward to some award winning Q from Jim's Smoking Que on 129 and was not disappointed.

Made it home in just over 8 hours and logged a little over 366 miles. Other than the typical traffic back here in-and -around Atlanta, it was a GREAT day. Just what the doctor ordered.

Everyone be safe out there-Happy riding.

I had the same problem with leaf-loving car drivers last Monday on the Blue Ridge.

Hopefully this weeks trip will see less traffic all over since we'll be up in the mountains during the middle of the week.

Thanks for the photos, BullCBX.

You know, there's some pretty nice riding in the ruralness between I-85, I-20, and the Savannah River. We're pretty lucky to be living around here.
