My backrest fell off at home right after a ride last night. I swung my leg around to get off and as usual just touched the top. The hinge pins sheared off. They are only about 1/8 th inch dia. hollow pins. I had noticed a bit of rust in there so I oiled it a few weeks back. I bought it used so I don't think there is a guarantee, but I'll get a stainless pin next.
