Got the call this morning. At least the 5 year altzimers nightmare is over. He worked hard all his life at construction, & taught thousands of 8 & 9 year old kids baseball, football, and baskettball in Lakewood Calif. He had 6 kids & was Duke's orignal owner (saved him from an execution in the LA county pound). Say a prayer for my Dad guys & gals.

heartfelt condolences Marcus, looks like you will have lots of proud memories, always very very sad having to let go of a loved one

the older I get the more I become aware of my own mortality and always try to have good moments with my kids

Alfredo

I know first hand my family's struggle with this issue, In some cases the time leading up to the loss is as devestating as the eventual loss itself I am truly sorry for your loss

I am sorry for your loss Marcus. But you will always have the memories, and nothing can take those away. I'll keep you and the family in my prayers and pray that the Lord will comfort you and bless you in this time of sorrow.

affectionately,

Mike

Lost my dad July '08. Alzheimer's sufferer, but acute leukemia got him in the end.

I miss him, every damned day......................still.

My condolences for your family's loss. Hang in there.

:(

Marc,

I'm sorry to hear you lost your dad. I lost mine in 1975 at the age of 56 and I still miss him and still think about him often.

Dan

Wishing you and your family peace in your hearts... your dad is free from pain and flying in other places... we are the ones who are left to mourn the loss. But by keeping him alive in your heart, he lives on... thank you for sharing him with us.

Thanks for all the kind words! The reason Duke started ride'n on my bike is so I could take him to visit pop.

My Sis Patty, Duke, & Chester (he was a character as the name suggests)

I am sorry for your loss. He's in a better place now.

As my dad and step-dad get older... It saddens me to think of the inevitable. Be strong and remember how fortunate you are to have had him as your dad.

He will always be with you in your heart.

Very sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a parent, even when they have lost so much of the enjoyment of their lives. Both mine went through the same process, but I still hated to see the end come. Sending a prayer.
