I have been so pumped about getting the FJR only to have my dream fall through the cracks. I was hoping to get it it in the next week or 2, but it just won't happen now. If fact, I need to sell my Warrior that I have invested tons of money into customization. I broke my arm last fall loading the bike on a trailer. The ramp I was on slipped off and the bike catapulted me over the top of it, landing on my elbow and breaking it. We didn't know it at the time, but I also damaged my shoulder which now needs surgery. On top of that, I have also elected to have another surgery done that my insurance does not cover. This surgery could very well be the difference of dying within the next 10 - 15 years, or living a longer life. I'm currently 48. I can't afford to pay for this surgery, on top of what my deductables for my shoulder surgery will be and a bike payment. My wife and I have also considered selling our camper as well. However, we would take one hell of a hit on it and could not sell it for what is still owed since campers don't hold their resale value. With that being said, let me say this: This is a fantastic forum with a great group of helpful people. Thank you all for your input in helping me make decissions on options for the FJR. I hope by next year or perhaps the following, I'll be able to afford another bike, which will be the FJR without a doubt. Again, thank you all.

Damn... Sorry to hear about that, I hope your health holds up above everytying else. Maybe you should play the lotto, a bad luck streak like that has to turn around somewhere.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck to you! Remember that everything happens for a reason.

Hang in there and do what you need to take care of yourself. The other stuff will fall into place in time. It's just not meant to be right now. Keep us updated on your surgery and recovery.

Sorry to see this post and hope it all works out for you. One thing about the insurance is too keep after them about coverage for the surgery... Border line procedures are summarily shot down as a matter of policy when they prolly should cover it. Be a pest about it.

Good luck.

Take care of yourself first. Everything else will come around later, you will see. When that time comes you will enjoy it much more because all these other worries will be behind you. :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, bro.

Hope there's a silver lining somewhere and I look forward to seeing you posting here again. :eek:k:

So sorry to hear that news. Hope all comes back round for you. Keep in touch on here. Even though you may not have an FJR, like you say there are lots of good people here to support you.

We grumble all the time on this side of the pond about the National Health Service, it may well be slipping down the cracks, but we should be grateful that it's there and it's free.

I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your surgeries. If one surgery will extend your life, then you have many years to look forward to where you can enjoy motorcycles. I hope you grow so old and gray that all you can ride around on is a big slow Harley E-Glide!

Twowheel is right. My brother had a VERY sick daughter and the insurance company tried on numerous occasions to deny coverage and he never gave up fighting and in the end the ins comp paid . So be vigilant, write letters, make phone calls and keep records of everything.

God Bless.

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck. I agree about challenging the insurance company though. You say that you've 'elected' to have the shoulder surgery but it doesn't sound like a true 'elective', since the option of dying at 58 from preventable causes is not acceptable.

Whether you get anywhere with it or not, I believe that it's well worth making a ton of phone calls, writing letter, sending email etc. What do you have to lose? Worst case scenario is that they won't pay for the surgery.

PS You don't have to actually OWN an FJR to hang out with this crazy bunch. The fact that you're THINKING of buying one makes you fit in.

We'll keep you in our prayers for success through this difficult time. If you get up to the Corpus area, give me a PM and we can hook up for a BBQ sandwich or sompin.

As others have said, things happen for a reason. Take care of yourself. I've always believed that things happen for a reason. Keep the faith.

GET BOTH OPERATIONS! WORRY ABOUT PAYING FOR THEM LATER. IF YOUR IN GOOD HEALTH, YOU WILL HAVE A BRIGHTER OUTLOOK! THINGS HAVE A WAY OF GETTING BETTER.

GET THE OPERATIONS! BOTH OF THEM!

Very sorry to hear of your difficult situation and hope all goes well for you.

If you don't have your health you don't have anything.

Wish's for your speedy recovery and prayers for you and your family.

Yeah....what they said!

Hang in there! I don't know about things happening for a reason..but you are taking control of the situation by electing to have the surgery you need. That is the most important thing. As the others have previously stated, pester the heck out of the insurance company. I have personal experience that you can convinence them to say yes when they are saying NO. Regardless, do what ever you need to insure your health. And, keep posting. You don't have to own an FJR to be a part of this great group of people! Heck, you are part of this forum already!
