Just attended the Wheaton Parade.

Watched and listened to the junior high and high school bands play, the veterans march, the girls and boy scouts march, the fire trucks filing by in a silent salute.

Then headed over to the parade destination at Wheaton Cemetery, where another cross was added to the list of Wheaton military killed in action....one as recent as this week as

Samuel Watts (age 20) was struck down. He was a classmate of my second son David...and grew up 2 blocks away from us.

Another good man down... :(

Well put Wheaton,

this is an image someone on my facebook posted, I really think it says more than words can say...

Grew up around them, because my dad was one of them, but I was never one of them.

Lots of days I am grateful I get to be who I am because of them.

I'm humbled every time I put our great flag out on our gate thinking of what was done to earn and keep our freedom.
