Putting together a ride from San Diego to Los Angeles to ride in the SoCal Fallen Officer Memorial Ride. I will post a meeting place and time, (possibly somewhere early morning, around 6:30am for breakfast) Itinerary and departure time from the meeting place. This will give us all a good reason to ride. The details for the Memorial Ride are on KJC625's post titled "SoCal Fallen Officers Memorial Ride" along with cost for the ride and location. This will also give most of us a chance to meet each other in person. Let me know if you are interested. I am going no matter what and am trying to enlist some other riders of various bikes at work to go along. B)

You are my hero!

We are going to ride as one huge FJR group.

Oh man this is exciting. :clapping:

Jim

Any updates? From socal area, Kaitsdad, Me.

Norcal area, maybe Silent.

Anyone from Good old San Diego area?
So far just me and a fellow FJR rider from work. I am going to post the meeting place and time for the ride up today and send out to groups at work. I also have a buddy with a VFW rider group in Chula that I told about it and will pass on to them as well. Hopefully we fill a couple of lanes coming up with a flurry of different bikes, but even if it is just Steve and I we have helped a little.

Okay, as promised, here is the meeting location and trip map on google maps. Let me know if you have problems with this link.

We will be meeting at Denny's Oceanside Harbor Blvd. When you come off the Oceanside Harbor Drive Exit, you will be heading east, you will have to double back and go west. Just as you cross through the light at North Coast Highway, you will see the Denny's on left. I had originally thought about setting something up for breakfast here, but for the sake of time, let's just make this a meeting place for the trip up to Laidlaws Harley. According to Google Maps, this ride will take approximately 1 hour and 23 minutes. We need to be at Laidlaws for registration between 9:00 to 11:00 am. This being the case, we will leave from Denny's parking lot at approximately 7:15 am. This should give us plenty of time to get to Laidlaws. There is a gas station right next to the Denny's if you want to top off for the trip up, just allow yourselves enough time to be ready to leave on time.

We will ride up at the posted speed limit just so that we can insure no loss of riders. I know, I know, going through the Camp Pendelton area is usually very fast moving. Once there I we can locate our fellow Forum members and group up. I have also let out an invite to other riders at my workplace so we may have a few cruisers with us as well.

If anyone close to me in Poway is planning on going, lets ride up to Oceanside together. We could all meet at the parking lot by Marie Callendars on Carmel Mountain Road then leave out around 6:00 am to reach Dennys by 7:00 am. Malve, His 2006, Her 2006 what do you say? This is for a good cause and it should prove to be fun. Plus we can put faces to names and get to know each other a little better. :fans: :derisive:

On the return, we could either come back down the 5 or make it a trip back via the 15. I will post another map for that if anyone is interested.

For some reason, I am unable to read any of the previous posts on this, so just in case, here is the ride info:

Thanks for the update at both threads. We will see you there. Once again, so far just me and Steve. I need to call him tomorrow and confirm. I fly back from Boston on Friday so unless my flights get hosed up, I will definately be there. Look forward to meeting you.

I will try to make it. However I may be on my Harley as the FJR is still in the shop re: switch problem.
