I recently ordered a rear tire from an online source had it put on at the local Yammy shop. Yesterday I was out cleaning the bike up and took a real close look at my front tire. It was very thin, almost smooth down the center. The wife is off for Spring break next week and we are planning to get out and do some riding. I didn't want to wait a week for a tire to come by ordering it online. I then remembered an add I saw in A local riding Mag called "Friction Zone". The name of the shop is Santa Clara Cycle. I first went to their web sight and looked up the price on a new Michelin PR2 for the front. They had it listed at $135 and it was in stock. I gave them a call and asked if they mounted tires also, and they replied yes. $25 to take the tire off the bike and $20 to mount and balance but if I bought the tire there the mount and balance is free. I said SWEET!!!! (I Like Free) Can I have it done today? They told me they had an opening at 3pm and asked if I could make it. Well it was noon and I live in Modesto and they're Located in Sunnyvale. I told them that I was on my way make the appointment. My total bill for the tire came to $176. That's for the tire, $25 for taking the the front tire off and on, Disposal fee for the old tire and state "****" tax. And I also got to get out and put some miles the bike at the same time. I feel it was a win win all the way around. I just wish I had looked them up before I ordered my rear tire. I probally would of went there and gotten it also. What I had saved on getting the rear on line (ordered it from Derby Cycle), I spent in having Yammy put it on for me.
