Just took first ride on my new Sargent. No doubt it's an improvement. Time will tell. My question is, how long does it take to get the Griptex to grip. Not really an issue for me, but the wife is sliding around....not the good kind.

After a few hundred miles you will start to notice a difference in the grip. I've put about 1500 miles on mine, much better than stock.

Actually, the Griptex pattern Sargent uses is the least " grippy " of the two that they offer. A quick check with them can confirm that. They usually tell people that....at least in my experience.

If you go to Sargent's web site they explain what Griptex is and they plainly state that Grip Tex does NOT mean the seat has more grip. Actually they state the Carbon X has more grip.

That's the reason I sold my sargent, way too slippery. Suppose I should have read the fine print.... griptex the LEAST grip that makes sense...
