Lifted from the LD List...

Rallymaster is a good friend and always put on a worth while event.

The Mason Dixon's Rally Yacht, "Entry Fees", is in

desparate need of repairs after recently bottoming

out. So to raise funds to fix the hole, we are

hosting at Ride and Eat event, nicknamed StRYPR.

Unlike the 90's glamrock-Christian band of a similar

name,this is a poker run, MD2020 style.

In Brief:

7 am August 26; $25; State Line, PA; no mileage cap;

11 hours long; upto 15 possible cards for your hand.

more details, including motel accomodations, are on

the website:

Mason Dixon 20/20

a portion of the

proceeds will go to Johns Hopkins

Childrens' Center, a Childrens' Miracle Network

Hospital.

The "yacht," of course, is a gag. MD 20-20 Rallybubba Rick Miller has an excellent sense of humor. He's also one of the few rallymasters that actually shows the riders his financial figures, and he doesn't make money off of this. The poker run is because the 06 rally ran in the red.

I've done the MD 20-20 several times, and it is a totally class act. Reserve Memorial Day Weekend for this rally -- it's worth it. And if you've never tried the LD thing before, it's very rookie friendly and Rick always sets up a SS1K route for folks hoping to earn their Iron Butt Association membership.

I've already signed up for the August 26 poker run. It will be the first LD style ride I've tried on the FJR and should give me a sense of what I can do on it. I'm psyched. Probably won't stay overnight -- I'm planning to ride in that morning, do the poker run, eat some pizza, then ride home. Who else is going?
