SCR Planning Advice

I just got off the phone with an old buddy from Milwaukee and agreed to get together for the SCR this coming May 2nd. Just looking for recommendations on hotels, retaurants, etc.. near Pine Bluff/Leland/Madison.

Once we pick a hotel I'll probably post a ride to see if any Twin Cities FJR's want to make the run with me.

He'll likely bring a contingent from his Ducati club.

Sounds like fun Tom. Joe2Lmaker & I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Madison a couple of years ago. It was inexpensive & adequate. Plus there's many places to eat close by.

You've probably already seen it, but the SCR does have some hotels listed one their web site.

My buddy's Duc club likes the Holiday Inn Express in Verona, as thay organize a "Road to Verona" ride every year and stay there. I'm willing to conceed the point, but am worried about suitable "gathering" places. There's one bar mentioned on the hotel website, and I imagine that's enough. Most of our time will be spent riding anyway. Still, we might have more options staying at a place like the Ref Roof Inn somewhat closer to Madison.

The "world" premiere of "American Cafe", a documentary on the SCR is at 4pm Saturday at the Sundance Theatre in Madison (see https://2soc.net/americancafe/ for details). I imagine there will be a bike or two outside the theatre, so we were thinking it would be fun to check out.

If we bought a bunch of tickets for the movie, do you think those inclined to make the trip would also be interested in the movie? I'm just thinking the movie might sell out given the premiere is the day before the ride. I'm just thinking a picking up 10-12 tickets now, in case they'd sell out.
