It is a flat blade. On the small side, maybe 3/16 inch wide, but it needs to be about a foot long. The one I use is 18 inches but it doesn't need to be that long. It needs to fit in the hole the 10MM headed screw comes out of.

I have yet to find a production screwdriver that fits. I have a Craftsman #41589 7 with the blade ground narrow that works perfectly. Blade is roughly 4" long. Handle size matters too. The larger the handle, the longer the screwdriver blade must be to provide lateral clearance.

Hint - Clamp the screwdriver blade with hemostats or needle-nose vise-grip pliers to prevent it from rotating while you work on other things.

:)

Gunny 4" length, very thin and small blade.

I purchased an inexpensive Central Forge 6 piece screwdriver set, item 92193 from my local Harbor Freight store.

The 5" long slotted worked best. I had to slightly grind the widest part of the flat so it was a straight line from the shaft to the point.

I have found this Xcelite screwdriver to be a handy size for many jobs. Xcelite R184 -- 1/8" x 4" Regular Round Blade Screwdriver:

Leave it to Alan to own just the right tool.

The rest of us buy a generic one, so we can grind on it then dip it in gasoline to cool.
