I am afraid I am going to have to bail!
I will miss visiting with all of you. I flew this weekend to my daughter's wedding in Arlinton, VA. My flights got screwed up due to late flights and missed connections (US Airways) and I arrived home a day late. I have to start the New Year working to make up for lost time. Grrrrr.

On a more positive note, I have French in-laws now.
That's okay. It's Karen we really want to see. So just send her along.... :D

Well JB, you will be happy to know Terri decided to come along in the morning. :yahoo: So I will be two up and have to behave.

This will also be the first ride on the new Russell seats.

Hope we don't see any Brown Alsatian Squirrel-Biter Terriers

Well, unless I get lazy and don't get up, looks like I'm still in, but on the FJR. (Too little protection on the XX without electric undergarments when it's as cold as the last few mornings have been.)

Be careful out there, it's around freezing at 1200 feet here at 8:30 am. You may find a corner or ten that are still frozen in the am, but lookin' black. I figured that my preferred route to Latrobe Road and 50 would be fraught with a number of SLOW tight corners that I would usually take a lot more speed into and out of. So, I just now decided that I'd do it the safe way and take Auburn Folsom to 50 to Latrobe, and to then take the fun way (Salmon Falls to 49) home, when I KNOW it isn't going to be ice rink slick in all those fun corners.

California really sucks, doesn't it? Supposed to snow like the devil after Wed. night, and we have to go sliding in the mountains then. Good thing we're all so crazy and f#&%'ed up that everyone else stays in those other smarter, saner states, huh? Oh . . . and all of us are gay out here, too , especially the wimmens -- none of them will have anything to do with men. STAY AWAY, immigrants -- it's all a lie, just like the gold rush.

Well I hope I don't freeze my nuts off out there tomorrow. I don't have any heated gear. I'll be layering up and hoping for the best. I put the liner in my jacket, and the liner in my pants. Dug out my winter gloves, found my head sock so I should be good for the morning. If it's just too damn cold, I'll ride out to Plymouth eat breakfast and then turn around and head back to Elk Grove. :D

Yeah, I made it home. Just in case you a-holes care. :angry2:

:D :D

I have to run to my in-laws now, more later.
We went back to look for you, and Terri was not happy with me for passing you, and the truck, and the car, and the Harley, and going so fast to do it.

Sorry :(

Nice to meet you and hope you will forgive me, my bad.

I think we had nine bikes today.... Great weather, beautiful scenery and super route to ride. Really enjoyed the day.

Some of the usual suspects, Midlifefjr (Brian), Nightshine (Sam), Pain Man (Del), Hycle (Mike) and the ever lovely Terri !

No worries. I was only joking around with my last post. Thanks for coming back to look for me. I figured you guys might do that. I got turned the wrong way and ended up going about 15 minutes in the wrong direction. I think I'm directionally challenged. I never used to be that way but I seem to be getting worse as I get older. I hate to think about how screwed up I'll be when I get to be as old as some of you guys! HA! :yahoo: Just kidding.

I don't really know exactly where I went but I think I got lost somewhere in this area. https://tinyurl.com/2d4gvr

There was a wye in the road and I went to the right and I think you guys went to the left. I ended up following that HD rider.

Okay, maybe it was here that I went wrong. https://tinyurl.com/yr6x7k

Anyway, I ended up following some signs to Comanche, thinking I would find my way out to Liberty Road, but I ended up going to the South shore instead of the North shore. I found some people outside a bait shop or something along the way and they told me to basically go back the way I came. I think I was heading back on Coal Mine Road, that turned into Buena Vista and that took me back to 88, I took that down to Liberty and took that all the way out to 99. I could have gone into Ione but I just wanted to take the safe / quick route back at that point. The road more traveled seemed like a better option as the day was drawing on.

My trip back was without incident. Thanks for allowing me to ride along with you all today. The roads were great and I certainly be riding some of them again when there is less sand out there. I haven't pulled the photos off my camera yet, but I'll post them when I get a chance to do that.

Oh, and I need to get a GPS on my bike sometime.

I had no Idea where I was all day.

Just lead me to my bike and give me someone to follow that's just a little faster than me and knows the road.

It's like a big video game with no reset or pause button and no extra points for getting there first.

Did I mention I am blind and Terri has to shout the directions cause I take out my hearing aids to ride. :clapping: :clapping:

I've got to thank you guys for putting this delightful day together. First, JB for starting it, though I never saw him after the breakfast stop. I hope he had an enjoyable day as well.

Brad put together a wonderful (sandy) bunch of roads for us to enjoy. :yahoo: Thanks for the giggles! Good fun, great group, and lots of smiles  .

I look forward to riding with you again after the twisties dry out.

Alan

Ok Mike, moving over to Ride Reports. Thank you for the reminder.

Was a good day. PM. <>< :D
