I don't know about you guys, but I know I am.

My kids spend Christmas Day with their dad every year, which, now that my folks have both passed on, leaves me here by meeself

Merry Christmas, fellow forum nerds :drinks: :dribble:

Are we a bunch of losers spending Christmas on the forum?
Speak for yourself.

I had my daughter and son-in-law last evening and this morning. We had a terrific time together, shared great conversation, ate wonderful meals, and I got to see the ever enlarging future-granddaughter-baby-bump. They're now off to visit other family so my heart is "warm and fuzzy", my stomach full and my eyes are teared-up.

Now I have some time to spend with my "other friends" (sometimes more like an extended family), those on the FJR forum. I'd say it's a pretty good Christmas and I don't think any of us are losers!

YMMV.

I don't know about you guys, but I know I am.
Barb, my friend, you may choose to see yourself in that light but you know in your heart that it isn't the truth. You've made a priority of having your children spend this holiday with their father. In my book that makes you a a huge winner rather than a loser of any kind. You've given the greatest gift: Time with their other parent. How much more could you give than that? It seems to me that is giving at the highest level.

Merry Christmas, friend. I'll toast you and drink a mug of hot chocolate in your honor.

The problem with Daughters is, they grow up get married, have their own families, so you got to share.

Just waiting for the appointed time, then we'll all get together for Dinner, gift exchange, and spoil the Grand Kids.

<tryed to indicate tongue in cheek thread>

but seriously:

might be the best Christmas day ever

both kids are off with friends and their familys over night

AIW and I vegging watching sappy Christmas movies on Halmark channel and

now it's the "best soft rock songs ever" Loggins and Messina, Captain and Tenille, Chris Cross, Journey, Lionel Richie, Doobies, Bread, Air Supply, Nilson, Seals and Croft, Carpenters, Manilow... ah, another sacred era <sigh>

munching lady fingers and eggnog...woo hoo ;-)

brownies in oven

check on me later...we may be in a sugar induced coma before evening LOL

might be too late...sweet sounding snores coming from AIW...

also slumbering doggies' Jenni and Walker feet sticking up from the love seat

we had rain yesterday afternoon followed by a double rainbow from horizon to horizon which was so vivid and the most beautiful sight in the sky ever...WOW

Uh, golly Mike. You're makin' me all weepy.

That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me. *sniffle*

...brownies in oven ...
Yeah, baby. Mike, you old stoner you.

Going over for Christmas supper at son's house. Son two and family joining us.

A half-dozen little female grandchildren think I'm funny. (I'll make 'em bring me beers.)

Went for a super cool ride last night, took pictures, and hurried home before midnight

to squeeze in some PWI. (Got another lame Ride Report in the can.)

And it's a freaking bee-YOU-ti-ful day today. Sunny. Clear. Calm. Good to be alive.

Peace and love, forum.

damm barb, you coulda headed south to so cal and relaxed with a cocktail here.merry xmas to you.stay warm and remember to many times of that other thing and you will go blind......lol

Well as you may have heard we got some snow here in MN over the last couple of days. All the local family was going to come over and do Christmas here but they wimped out, actually the driving all across the greater Twin Cities area really does suck. So Christmas is postponed until a later date. Well, by the time that decision was made there was no turning back on the turkey and dressing so here I am, alone but not lonely, with turkey and dressing for ten. I guess it made for a good trial run, I'll get to do it again next week.

And Barb, MM2 is right, putting your kids first absolves you of any perceived looserdom. :good:

Here's to all the forum members here today :drinks:
