Ebay CD's are a scam. There not from Yamaha, and they bring with them lots of bad juju

Have your local dealer oder you up the service manual

Go to yamaha-motor.com. Then log into "my yamaha".

I paid about $71 with shipping and it came to the house in about a week.

hmm..maybe can buy more jujus with the money he saves, that is to replace the bad ones.

Leo's advice is the best one on this point. You spent well over 10 grand for a bike and a $70 official service manual shouldn't be an issue for you.

I ordered mine from the Yamaha dealership when I picked my bike up, I believe the manual itself was $60.00 without shipping. I also did the CD thing while I was waiting for my manual to come in, that was a huge waste of money and time. No one knows a product like the manufacturer, do yourself a favor and get a manual from Yamaha. In the end, it's the biggest bang for your buck.

Just my humble opinion,

With Service Manual in hand, you can verify service performed and your knowledge of the proceedures if required for Warranty purposes by showing them the grungy pages you've looked at, touched, or better yet marked or made comments on...they'll tell you to shove the CD where the Sun don't shine, along with your Warranty, as that's not a Yamaha Part if there's a question as to how the work was done...inform yourself or pay to have the work done...but of course, you already know this, and I'm not your Daddy.

The point has been made...very clearly. Long before you posted. Build a bridge.

I see'em on eBay all the time on CD

I must strongly disagree with obtaining an electronic version of the manual.

The exception would be if you already own the legit paper version.

(That's my moral compass, your compass may vary)

Three months ago I purchased a complete new repair manual for a Honda VTX I was working on for around $50.00 including shipping. I have also purchased a 2006 FJR manual from him as well for the same price, I'm trying to find out if he is still in the repair manual business. If he contacts me, I will let you know and will also post his info for others as well. I should know by tomorrow.... These are the same factory manuals you buy at any dealership, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, ect.

easy Gary....

All I was saying (typing) was that Ignacio spelled the issue out loud and clear. I saw your post (probably incorrectly...but that's because you can't 'talk' to me and I can't 'talk' to you)...and without exchanging the verbal version, the translation has become heated. Sorry.

The "Build a bridge" reference was pointed at me, and anyone else who thought that the knife needed twisting a bit. I guess I was gettign in early in case others saw this issue as a soft target. I transgressed (it's in Iggy's quote...so it will never go away until he edits it), and I am sorry. I am over it.

Now...Ray Major. Never heard of him or the incident. Care to enlighten me?

Morning FJR Steve...we have no issues and our love of motorcycles is a bond...here's a link from the Roadliner Forum (I'm a former owner) on Ray's bad luck in Perth: https://forums.delphiforums.com/starroadlin...ages?msg=4842.1

He used to drag the bike at a local strip on Wednesday nights I believe, and we corresponded on trying to get a set of Yamaha Speedstar drag pipes of mine from Alaska to AU...shipping was equal to the new cost of the pipes so that fell through...seems like you folks pay a dear price for parts and shipping stuff...have spoken with many on Amateur Radio in VK and ZL over the years and it seems like manufacturers of that equipment also bite you big but not sure why...best of luck with your FJR project.

I got a couple of factory manuals from this dude, give him a shout. [email protected]

Most of the manuals he sells are around $30.00 to $40.00 plus delivery. I don't know him and I don't get anything for this. If you want a factory manual at a good price with quick delivery, check him out, these are exact factory manuals. Just trying to help some save a few bucks.

Well, I just got it, looks absolutely legit, and works perfectly. Thanks Joe. And if somebody else wants to save money, go for it.

And you guys stop that 'cheating' crap. If you honestly have never cheated in your life, being taxes, your wife, G/F, etc., then throw the first stone. Besides, all other guys mentioned above who knows how they get them too. And if you found a used one cheap wouldn't you buy it? Same thing. I personally let the judging to the man upstairs. Later gang.

Oh, and FWIW, all other forums I've belong to have the service manual posted on their site to download, or in the case of BMW, for a $10 'donation', the admin sent you a CD version. Just a comment. Have a good one guys.

This forum will not advocate the distribution of pirated materials. All of you can afford the bike, then you should be able to afford the cost of a real service manual one way or the other. The forum guidelines will be updated to reflect this new issue shortly, as it's not the first time it's come up.

Links to vendors will be removed as spam.

End of discussion. Go buy a real one.
