I've seen some bits and pieces of this on both threads for the planning of the SFO and EOM rallies. But I thought I would start a unique thread on the thought of some members doing both. I like the idea of a group of us maybe riding together on the week between SFO and EOM. With roughly 1000 miles between the two rallies, and 4-5 days to get there, I can envision a TON of adventure along the way.

I was wondering who is planning to do this, and what are your thoughts regarding logistics?

Personally if I would consider this, I'd love to ride through Southeast Ohio as I have heard great things about that.

Looking forward to the discussion.

If only I was retired and not living off the meager pay of a firefighter. I could envision a nice month CFO in Lacrosse, to SFO at the Hub, to EOM in Lewisburg and finishing off the month with Hooterfville. Four weekends of back to back riding events in great locations with awesome friends.

*Sigh*. That would be fantastic.

Would consider this, but am already in for Hooterville, October 1 weekend. If I am able to take the additional time for EOM, then that gets the priority this year.

However, I think the SFO-EOM combo is a grand idea for 2016.

As an new guy, these are my plans and thoughts. I won't be attending any of the meets mentioned above. Along with what has already been said, I'm more than a little disappointed, but I know that having only been part of this community for a few months, having purchased my candy red ticket 8 months ago, I have a lot to look forward to.

Having said THAT.... I hope you don't take this as weird, Mr. Pants... I enjoy reading your ride reports and such, and if you were to make a swing up to Ohio, I wouldn't mind swinging over to Ohio, shaking your hand, and riding with you. I would skip out of a few days of my daily work obligations for that.

That's not weird. That is awesome.

I take this as a complete surrender of Mr. 'Pants' Epic Out West Trip?

Mr. Pants, you have a text message on the way.

Well Jon...if yer gonna do that, then I guess you could make it down to EOM as well.

Let me know if you do plan on heading up to SE Ohio on your way to EOM...I could meet you at the top of the triple nickel (Rt 555) Thursday morning, and give you a little tour of some of the better roads, before crossing into WV for the ride down to Lewisburg.

I think I done been called out. You're absolutely right, Mr. Joe. When the boss gets home I'll see if there's a reason why I'm not already planning that trip.

Take it as a little weird? This whole fricken forum and all the members could be thought of as a little weird! Never in my life have I ever read anything on line from someone and thought, hey I should hop on my bike and ride 1400 miles and go ride with and meet these people. This Forum has brought me to Wisconsin several times, North Carolina, Utah, New Mexico, South Dakota, Ohio just to ride with some strangers and have a cold one with them afterwards. You will only think you are weird riding out to go meet strangers until you meet all the others and then it is just the new norm. Find a free September weekend and get out and meet up with the rest of the weirdo's. You will be hooked!

Hey, Pants! I considered doing SFO then EOM but opted for EOM then Hooterville instead due to a schedule conflict SFO weekend. I believe there are a few of us doing the EOM then Hooterville combo this year. Join us or if you do the other, I'll see you in WV!

Wish I could do all of them as well... where is that winning lottery ticket when I need it??
Come to EOM so we can take pictures together!!

Great feedback all around - by all means, others, please weigh in. Uncharacteristically, I'm wavering all over the place. Without a doubt, I'm taking a bike trip next month. This much I know. I just need to think about it some more.

Guess that's part of my problem, I've got too darn much time to think. It's way too friggin hot to ride now.

(sigh)

Owned the red head for over two months now and only managed a paltry 1,600 miles? Pitiful, I tell ya!!

Marie (wifey) and I are doing EOM, then heading to Maggie Valley for a few days, then to Tellico Plains for a couple of days. Plan on riding every road we can before heading back to Flatistan.

Looks like I'm back on the "out west" trip now. Leaving Sept 16, no less than 12 days, likely 14, could go as long as 16 days if the money and the interest holds. Redfish Hunter, his dad, and I are dreaming up something BIG.

So SFO and EOM will have to wait until another year for Pants - I do look forward to that ride one day.

However, please don't let that discourage anyone else from commenting on this thread - hopefully ya'll will find each other going from rally to rally.
