To reset so that the bike will start you need to turn off the ignition and then turn the key back on. This will usually allow you to restart the bike.
The SH_16 code indicates a malfunction in the drive signal of the MSU. The AE is very sensitive to where the idle speed is set and if the idle speed is set too high you can get these types of error codes.
One of the first things to try is to lower your idle speed. The YCCS on the AE seems to like an idle speed set no higher than 900 RPM on a warm idle.
