I bit the bullet and installed Shinko Ravens about 3 weeks I have about 2K on them now and will put probably another 1K before I ship my bike to Utah for a 4 to 5K loop out that way. I ride 2 up 97% of the time. Riding style is not over agressive but not a slow poke either. Stay off the Interstates especially when doing a tour like the one I have planned. Stick to the old US Routes and State Routes.

Looking for experience on how many miles to expect out of these tires. What I am debating is whether I should mount a new pair before the bike gets shipped. I would probably go with another set of Ravens for the trip. Figure they gotta last at least 6K, which is really the breakeven point on cost from a set of Michelins assuming they will last 9K.

So far these have way out performed the Bridgestones that I got with the bike, drastically improved the handling. From that aspect I am happy with them.

I tried posting this to the Never Ending thread, but I could not.

I was wonderig about the shake...reminded me what I get on the Connie.

When you say you burned em out fast, how fast was fast ??

And I did try posting NEPRT, but I did not have permission. TGIOTHUR

3k of Arkansas/Missouri Twisty roads and into the cords.

Again, Not a bad tire for the money, Just some weird characteristics and wear fast.

You can't start a NEPRT thread, it gets magically moved there when it's discovered. Oddly enough, I don't think I've ever landed one here.

Can't speak about Shinkos, though.

Tire Topic......... ...... NEPRT thread ........

By the end of today or... Iggy is out smok'n crack with a RV full of sheep!

I've only had a rear Raven on my ST1300, and it wore out after half the mileage I get from PR2s so I decided not to use anymore. Good luck with your trial of them. They work good until worn out.

I've got over 7k on a set, which included an ss1k and a hot trip to Florida. Rear seems like it may have a couple of thousand left but I'm not sure about the front. It doesn't seem to be cupped but I would strongly suggest  not releasing your grip on the bars slowing down under 50... I'm down in Lincoln RI if you want to take a spin down and look at them.

Thanks for the response. I am gonna mount a new set of Shinkos before I send the bike to UT. Your post helped me firm up in my mind what to do.

Wish I had enough time to ride it there but I dont
