A fellow biker at work wants the name of some shipping companies. He wants to ship his bike from Rutland, VT to Nevada for some rally (it's a dual sport bike), ride the bike in the rally and then ride the bike home. Any company names I can give him? Budget is limited. TIA

I used Daily Direct a couple of months ago for shipping across country. They did a pretty good job and you dont have to crate your bike. Also theyll pick it up from your home if youd like and pretty good rates.

I used These Guys last year to ship my new FJR across the country. They were priced in line with other shippers, good to deal with, delivered on-time and you can track the shipment 24/7 with your shipping number. I did have minor damage with a scratched mirror, but they paid the claim w/o question.

There are many shippers to choose from. Good Luck.

Check here. That's how I got my bike from MI pretty reasonable. Daily Direct had the best price through the RFQ on the web site above.

I shipped a small bike (1977 Yamaha RD400, about the size of a d/s) a few years ago from Albany, NY to Los Angeles, CA pretty cheaply from Forward Air Shippers. They provide a container and you load the bike, including other goods if you want, and off it goes. The only catch is that you have to drop off and pick up the bike at one of their warehouses.

I used Daily Direct about three years ago and was very happy with them too. At that time, I shopped around and they were about the cheapest.
