Has anyone found any neat ways to light up their side case insides at night. Maybe even such that it turns on when opened.....Kinda like the fridge thing.

-****,..... i just reminded myself of a moment from WAY Waaaay back,..when a buddy and i had a grass cutting and "Trivial Chores" business and We became reasonably well known with the senior's community because we were so trust worthy,fair,Cute,....etc.... Anyhoo, this dear little old lady had asked for us to put up a couple of smoke detectors and change her fridge bulb. She commented as we were leaving about how long the bulb had lasted. I motioned to her as i stepped back into the kitchen from the porch,....Opened the door to the fridge,... kneeled down,....Pointed to, and pushed the button a couple of times. The poor dear old sweetheart had to sit down cause she was laughing sooo hard.

Cheers

Interesting...

I have a maglight mounted inside my top case, in the back, in the lid, but I have to remove it to use it. I was thinking about velcro-ing a cheap LED head lamp inside the top case.

Something like this...

Not sure where I'd put them in the side cases where they'd be useful and not in the way of putting bags in there.

How about one of them battery operated clicky lights you see on TV? It is like a round button, and you just press the lens to turn on and off. Battery powered. Wouldn't take much space, self sticky for easy removal and cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaap!! HD, wally world, or other such stores must carry.

No fridgey thing but, did I mention its cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaap!?!?

I got a pair of these:

mounted so when the case opens the lights go on, just like a fridge. They sell in pairs, one for each bag. I got another set for my topcase, and mounted a light on each side. Been awhile now and still have not replaced the batteries...

Those look pretty good, but I'm thinkin' I need a bracket from Skyway to really keep them on!

i am in the process of this kind of solution for my pelican box:

12v led lights, 3 elements each.

2 pair red, 3 white light.

runs off bike power with battery back-up.

connects to bike via mil-spec connector for weather proof features

also provides power for turn signals and brake light on exterior of pelican...

I'm betting the magnetically switched lights will behave much better than the mercury switched ones. Too much motion on FJR side bags for mercury switches IMO.

I've seen the magnetic ones in department and hardware stores, sold as (kitchen) drawer/cabinet lights. LED construction makes the most sense because of power consumption/battery life/brightness.

Bike power is not an option IMHO. I want them to work when the bike is turned off and I'm groping around the top bag in the dark.

Nice farkle idea!

I found a small battery powered push to light up 3 LED unit at Lowes. It attaches with double sided foam tape. I put it on the inside of my Givi trunk lid. I think it cost less than $10 & I'm very happy with it. It is probably an inch & half or two in diameter. Good luck. Ron

Sorry for the slow thank you,. for the replies. Been busy as H at work. Think i'll be ordering a pair of the Tiny's magnetic that KM flipped up. When you think about it,...This would be one of those really cheap things that mother Yam could add that a potential buyer would say "**** that's damn cool...a bike with a lit trunk,...i'll take IT".

Cheers
