I'm getting ready to mount my Streamer GT and I'm going to have to remove the cigaretter lighter plug on the provided power cord and replace it with a Powerlet plug (at least until I set up a hardwire panel). Powerlet cautions against cutting off any existing plugs until determining if it is a "power reducing" plug. I had never heard anything like that before. The power specs for the radio call for 10-16 volts DC....does that mean that the radio unit conditions the power internally or does the plug have a built-in resistance.

How are all you Sirius users powering your units?

Tks.
