??Why post here then if you won't find it?? Wouldn't you check your own thread? Sorry, I'm just puzzled. Hope you find some brackets...

Bill, are you talking about brackets for the ginormous Solteks?

Go with the brackets from FJR Goodies. Very good design.

True, but they are designed for motorcycle auxiliary lamps, not the Solteks. The latter's housing is too large (physically), their weight is excessive.

So for the Hella FF200's, the PIAA 600's, PHIDs, etc, etc, the Top Gun brackets are just the ticket.

The Solteks, however, can't be reasonably mounted on the FJR without the Skyway brackets. Even then, there are issues that give me pause about them. YMMV, etc.

Warchild, what issues give you pause? (Outside of the 'you may never see them if you order them).

Are they not technically stout enough to hold the Solteks?

I am pretty sure that Warchild's issues are with the Solteks themselves and the fact they are quite heavy, and not with the Skyway brackets themselves. There are some of us that wonder what effect those heavy mofos will have over time on the FJR's front subframe though so far no probelms have been reported. DCarver with his dirt driveway and daily riding seems to be the our prime beta tester and so far he has nothing but positive things to say.

No, no... the Skyway brackets for the Solteks are stellar... very stout, extremely well made for this mis-application. ;)

SkooterG has partially nailed it.... one of two primary concerns is the effect on the FJR's subframe over time. While some have had these lights on for a while with no issues, it is nonetheless (IMO, having first investigated the Solteks a couple years ago) that with few exceptions, they are a marginal for motorcycle use. And fairly impractical if you primarily travel in the presence of prevailing traffic.

Now, that said... if you truly live in such a desolate area that you never encounter oncoming vehicles at night, and you have a motorcycle that has a reasonable mounting method on a rigid steel subframe, then go for it.

My 2nd concern is the following: while we in the Iron Butt community always like to say that "one can't have too much light", that's just a popular saying... but it is not based in reality. The Solteks throw out so many lumens, they can contribute to irritation and fatigue (over many hours) by having to constantly deal with the "throwback" from reflector dots, snow marker poles, highway signs, etc, etc.

It's a practical utilization issue, basically. Here is another example:

When tooling on down the interstate at night, one can still get away with using your PHIDs or Hella Micro DE's, etc, as long as the medium dividing the interstate lanes is reasonably wide (say, 50-100 feet) and you are still a good 1/4 -1/3 mile behind any vehicles traveling the same lanes you are. I've been doing this for many years with my PHIDs, and now the Hella Micro DE's, so I have first-hand experience that this works.

Not the case with the Solteks.... you fire those bad boyz off, and everyone with 2 miles will know about it... coming and going. Truckers are particularly sensitive to this, and they will let you know about it in no uncertain terms.

So again, if you live in the Nevada Outback (for example) and can deal with the mounting issues, well, that's one thing. For motorcycles on public roads with prevailing traffic... it's a poor fit, IMO. The Solteks are originally intended for off-road use by ATV's and big Trailies.... no traffic signs, etc to irritate you with "throwback", and sufficient hard steel mounting opportunities on the ATV/dirt-bike handlebars.
