Does anyone know if the guy that owns/runs SkyWay Parts is member? I ordered some sliders from them and haven't heard a word out of them. Card was charged on 29 Jan, but nothing in regards to shipping and no response to my email.

Wait 30 days and then put a dispute with your credit card company to get your money back. I don't think you will ever get those sliders.

Suffice it to say that Skyway is a forum Persona non grata due to business practices.

Get your credit card company to cancel the deal as Puppychow suggested.

IIWM and I just heard about their "issues" I'd not wait 30 days to dispute the charge. I'd cancel the order in writing (e-mail) and then notify the CC company to stop the charge before it ended up on my bill.

But that's just me. Others often choose different courses of action.

Yes, go ahead cancel the order in writing (email, I guess), but your credit card has already been charged so it will show up on your bill. Most CC companies these days REQUIRE you to wait 30 days from expected delivery before you can dispute the charge.

The Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule

This rule covers merchandise you order by mail, telephone, computer and fax. It requires merchants to have a reasonable basis for claiming they can ship an order within a certain time.

Ship Dates

By law, a merchant should ship your order within the time stated in its ads or over the phone. If the merchant doesn't promise a time, you can expect it to ship your order within 30 days.

The shipment "clock" begins when the merchant receives a "properly completed order." That includes your name, address and payment (check, money order or authorization to charge an existing credit account - whether the account is debited at that time or not).

If the merchant doesn't promise a shipping time and you are applying for credit to pay for your purchase, the merchant has an additional 20 days (50 days total) to establish the account and ship the merchandise.

Since there has been no communication from Skyway - the credit card company will give that merchant 30 days to ship the order (from when the shipment clock started ticking). This is the reason most CC companies will make you wait 30 days to dispute the charge.

Quick Quick Run Run AWAY From this vendor.

The Admin on this board Have him listed only as a not preferred vendor and that quite the understatement.

Use him at your own risk. I hope it works out for you.

Jim

You gotta be joking. Why would anyone send this crook more money after everything that has happened. If you do get a chance to talk to him on the phone be sure to say hi from all of his previous suckers.

Another reason we have the Dealer Feedback Area.

Skyway has burned his bridges and anybody that orders a product is taking a risk whether they'll get it or not.

Hopefully, potential purchasers will look there first and people that have had first-hand experience will leave feedback subject to the special rules for the area (at the top). Skyway has also been a special case here, here, and other places.

Course never ordered anything from him.

If you orderd the aluminum sliders you don't want them anyway in my opinion. Some have reoported they will crack the frame ear they attach to if you drop the bike. I bought a set of the aluminum ones and they did not bolt on correctly requireing shims etc to make them fit. Without the shims they compress the frame boss which will lead to a cracked frame if you drop it.

I got rid of them before they even got installed.

The delron ones may be OK, but still the vendor isn't.

Hope your story turns out better than many others has.
