Ian,I wasn't even aware there was a problem with the straps, but I'm glad I happened on to this thread as I'm installing mine over memorial weekend. Thanks for the great customer support!

Ditto, would've sucked donkey balls to lose this gorgeous piece of equipment! :glare:

I had some feedback from 1 rider who lost his while out on the road. I have ridden thousands of miles with mine, and no issues, but have also made the same changes to my bike to be on the safe side. This is all explained in the letter that's heading everyone's way.

So that means I've had a failure rate of less than 1%, but I want to ensure this never reaches 2%.

The kit I've mailed out is merely a precaution, and is my way of standing behind the product.

You go mister!!!

And, this fix comes out right after I sewed my straps up w/ dental floss. But seriously Ian, you're wonderful. Thanks man!

Heidi

Thanks skyway, I received you posts today to fix the "loosing the kit problem " . It's nice to know that someone stands behind their products at this day and age. I probably won't need the posts however as I just used a common paper stapler and put two staples thru the two ends that come thru the buckle and one layer of the strap . Works great .

Mac

Uhm....I already used "hot glue". I might use the "fix", too. Thanks, Ian!

Whew! This time a package from Skyway that didn't cost my bank account. :D

Mine arrived yesterday as well... thanks Ian. You're a real standup guy...

Skyway - I was not a member here or even own a FJR when this GB took place. Are you planning on selling these units when you launch your new web-store?

Thank you,

John T.

Gee, I actually have to INSTALL this upgrade? Ian, aren't you going to ride around and install this for the buyers?

And asking us to use a soldering iron to melt a hole in the straps - well, that's tatamount to handing a can of lighter fluid and a box of matches to a 4 year old and telling him to play with the cat... bad things can happen !! Everyone got their fire extinguishers ready? Bandaids? Burn ointment?

So which half of the screw goes lefty-loosey, which goes righty-tighty? Huh? Geezzz.....

Skyway - :fan_1: Props to ya bud !!

Huh! I lost one of the straps and its side of the quick connect when I rode one afternoon without the container attached. Looked down after parking the bike in the garage and said "Doh!" <_<

Went to REI and got some 3/4" strap and two replacement quick connect buckles. Each strap now sports a shiny new pop rivet.

Hey folks, as of 07/14/2007, I have a website for taking all orders for the various farkles I make. I am no longer taking orders by email, or via threads on the forum. Nor am I accepting Paypal any longer. All communication to me regarding orders should be made via the website.

You can purchase my farkles with a variety of payment options here: www.skywaymoto.com The website will make the ordering process much easier for everybody involved and will provide much better service to my customers by giving automatic email verification of orders, and tracking information.

Also, you will be able to see on the website if a certain item is in stock or not. I am going to have admin close these threads, so there is no confusion on how to contact me, or order farkles.

I appreciate all your support, and strive to provide the best possible service and farkles.
