A while back I reported problems receiving information from the rear tire to the SmarTire receiving unit. Having tried two senders and two receivers, I asked for help. Groo suggested (seconded by others) that the problem might be in interference in the power line going to the SmarTire receiver. I didn't think so and didn't know what to do about that, anyway.
Well, after I had to separate a home-made wire bundle to facilitate the installation of a G2 Ergo throttle tube, I noticed that I began to get some (but not all) of the information from the rear tire sender. The SmarTire power wire and ground had been running next to wires going to and from a radar detector. When I moved the SmarTire receiver to the opposite handle bar (away from the radar detector) the SmarTire system worked fine.
Thanks, Groo. Maybe next time I will listen...naw! That's way to easy!
